*beep! Beep! Beep!*
Daniel’s alarm clock went before he slammed his fist down on it.
He woke up, and went to the kitchen.
He made some scrambled eggs, and dumped a truckload of pepper on it.
He walked to his couch, still tired, and turned on the tv.
It started on channel 8, which was airing the new episode of Dead Quiet.
“FIRE IN THE H-” one of the characters said before Daniel changed the channel.
Channel nine was static. He changed it to 10.
“This rocket was recovered. The two 14 year old boys said the ride was a great success.” The reporter said to the screen.
The boys walk up to the camera.
“We just made history, people. The .308 rocket will live in that made history. Remember this, these rockets are gonna keep coming, Nasa. Whether you like it or not. Peace!” The commander of the rocket said to the camera before walking away.
“These boys certainly are enthusiastic. The rocket did not reach the exosphere, but it did reach the Mesosphere, which was their main objective. They are attempting to get to the next layer of the atmosphere before trying to go higher and get into orbit.” The reporter continued.
“Thank you very much Cassie, this certainly has been an advancement in personal space flight. Next up: where are the astronauts from the Bear 2 incident? Daniel Fryar has not made a public press appearance in 1 and a half years, and has not been spotted in 4 months. As for Gerald Wagner, he has been seen recently, but not interviewed in about a year. Nasa has openly stated they will not try to force the astronauts to go back into space due to other astronauts not wanting to. Back to you, Cas.” The reporter said before Daniel shut off the TV and washed his bowl.
His landline started ringing.
He answered. It was Gerald.
“You see these morons on the news? Its been 3 years, they gotta move on. Im sick and tired of hearing about it. We suffered trauma, and they love squandering it for their own personal gain. Its stupid.” Gerald ranted.
“Yeah. Cant control em, Jerry. Sad truth.” Daniel replied.
“I got a question for you…” Gerald asked.
“What is it?” Daniel wondered.
“You willing to take up an offer?” Gerald asked.
