Inky black darkness dominated the room. Scratches littered the old and rotting walls, as well as the floors. The only source of light that could be found was a dim lantern lifted by a person's hand.

The said figure slowly trudged around the dark space, carefully observing the odd decorations that adorned the decaying wood.

"What an odd man."

A feminime voice spoke. Of course, she was refering to the old man that used to spend all his precious time in the room, working for hours on end.

Nobody knew what buisness he had with this room, or why he was so obsessed with it. But, he no longer lives, for he had passed in a tragic accident.

No one was aware of what truly happened to the man, he was very mysterious, and prefered to keep to himself.

His body was found lying on the dusty floor, eyes open wide, and mouth hung open. It wasn't a very gruesome death, there were no signs of physical violence, but the element that disturbed the people of Enderbrook, was the fact that his veins were black.

He couldn't have drank poison, no, he was too smart for that. Who would want to assault the poor man anyway?

It was later revealed his name was Victor Dellan, after his grandaughter had made it known at his funeral.

The girl in the room knew of Mr. Dellan, and she had come to pay her respects. They weren't too close, but she had been terribly distraught at the news, after all, the unfortunate event was only a week ago.

Setting the lantern down, she headed towards his desk. She skimmed through the items before a wilted peice of paper caught her eyes. Dark blue orbs swirled with unsureness and determination, as she took the desired item and pocketed it.

She was very carful with it, as if it would break at any given moment. Picking up the fading lantern, she hurried out of the chilling room.

She arrived at a cozy cottage, and knocked on the door.

A young woman opened it, her brown hair tied in a quick bun, while grass green eyes stared down at the girl before her.

Her eyes lit up in reconization, and an icy grin was sent her way.

"Oh, Beatrice, I assume you've found what I asked for?"

Said girl nodded her head, honey brown ringlets bouncing around her.

She pulled out the desired item, and handed it to the awaiting woman.

"Grandfather would've been so proud."

I didn't really edit this, and I suck at typing on phones, so please excuse any grammar mistakes. Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

8\10. It needs more taking in it to keep the story going, or else the reader has a loss of interest. It was good except for that part.
