Section 11
The rescue
Daisy then saw Crimson Ring members flood into the hallway like ants. Daisy then used his suits built in jetpack to fly up, and then brought down a fist that left a massive hole and broke the legs of men standing nearby. Daisy then quick drew his Socom and put all of those wounded down. Then, grabbing a shotgun from a nearby weapon rack, proceeded to put down all of those who dared put a foot through the door. The initial mass of bodies that was now blocking the door to the bunker had damaged the doors circuits to the point the door was smoking. The door then made a loud noise and an even louder sound, then scattered more bodies around the room. Daisy then found the heavy machine gun in the corner, intact, and another box of ammo for it. He then carried the hulking behemoth outside and saw several Warthogs, Hornets, and other fast attack craft, which he then cut down. The formation of the attackers were in made it possible to damage a single vehicle and several others merely by destroying one and letting it hit the vehicles. By doing this, there was blood on the ground and mangled vehicles. But suddenly, a Warthog with a Gauss turret in the back fired a tungsten slug at Daisy. The makeshift energy shield on Daisy’s armor was immediately cirrippled, and the actual armor starting overheating. Warning signs flashed all throughout Daisy’s helmet HUD, and the core reactor was now overheating. Daisy decided to self destruct the armor, but first he had to take it off. Pressing the eject button on the armors control panel on his control box, the armor fell off and now Daisy was in a simple black bodysuit. Running away from the armor, Daisy then picked up the Socom lying on the ground and the last five magazines. The armor exploded in a large radius and nearly blew away Daisy.
When Daisy walked back into the wreckage, the armor was surprisingly intact, just the core reactor was gone. The armor was lighter than before, and as Daisy Strapped in, he saw that no one survived. The bodies were a pile of black dust and some armor. The vehicles were just some of the titanium brace and a titanium box. Inside of the box was a lot of black dust, and when carefully analyzed by Daisy, he found it was a box of papers. Any “weapons” were now puddles of slag. Ammunition from warthog turrets were fused together, and several gauss slugs were also melted together. It was hot to touch, and surprisingly heavy. A single survivor was found behind a somewhat repairable turret. The survivor then attempted to draw a bead on Daisy but was too slow and died like the rest. Daisy then tripped another survivor into another puddle of slag. The survivors screamed as his face was dismembered.
The armor finally cracked after Daisy took another bullet to his chest plate. The armor fell off, and the HUD displayed “fatal error 8888”. Daisy tore off the helmet and kept on running from another group of angry hostile survivors. There was a loud bang and moaning as the helmet dentotated itself to prevent data from falling into hostile hands. Any data Daisy had discovered on Covenant technology or architecture was decimated. Daisy decided to run into a patch of forest to throw off any pursuers. He then ran up to a edge of an cliff, which just at the right moment, came the survivors.
“You know, if you here someone rack a shotgun, it’s a universal sign of ‘kiss your wimpy little self goodbye.’”. And that’s exactly what they did, but Daisy slapped a rubber explosive to the hand of the Socom and stuck a match in it. Lighting the match, Daisy drop-punted it into one of the hostile faces. Sprinting off the cliff, an explosion was heard and it was raining blood and… innards. But Daisy took a massive fall and saw his arm bend the wrong way. Limping towards a Pelican dropship, he proceeded to climb inside for the medkit. He then proceeded to tie his injured arm up as best as possible, but then he realized that why was a Pelican dropship outside in the middle of nowhere? He patched himself up, and pried open the door next to the medkits. He then saw the two dead pilots slumped over in their seats, in which he moved aside. Daisy then took a chip out of the console and stuck it back in, revealing a video player. Playing the video, it showed that the Pelican was hit by an anti aircraft turret while a burning Drop Pod went past it. The Pelican then got stuck in a collision course with a larger ship, a ship known as “Combat Devolved, which was promptly cut in half by the Pelican. The Pelican now lost its other wing, and the frantic screaming of the co pilot as he was hit by shrapnel was deafening. The first video was abruptly cut off as it transferred to the next one, showing the crew members attempting to open the loading hatch. A large bright light blinded the camera footage and the faint silhouettes of the soldiers in the troop bay getting sucked out.
