*in the non-woman loving non-woman sense
Sage had been coming out to our grade through Tiktok, and I was honestly not surprised that Emma approached me
It started when Emma smirked at me as she walked by. "You know I have a right to say this stuff, right?" she said, mentioned everything she had called us earlier.
I shook my head. "What makes you say that?"
"I'm aroace."
"Okay? I think you already established that? I really don't see the need for you to act like this. We're not going to be friends or anything after this."
"Come on. I'm queer too."
"Too be honest, I don't like the label queer-"
"I can use those words."
"What did you just say? That's like me calling a gay person* the f-slur. I can't do that. If you're not a specific label, you don't have the right to say the slurs reclaimed by that label."
"I totally can."
"You're straight. You can't. Now get the **** away from me."
"Um, excuse me?! If your girlfriend were here, I could just get rid of you both."
"They don't like the label girlfriend. They're transmasc."
"Then why are you in a lesbian relationship and why do they wear dresses?"
"I don't know what to tell you, but they like dresses. And they're nonbinary. You can be nonbinary and transmasc."
"So they want to chop their breasts off?"
"Oh my GODS. I'm only telling you the information that they're comfortable with people knowing. That they have been telling people. Why are you asking me this? Sage isn't comfortable with this. Leave them alone, okay?!"
Emma laughed. "Wow."
I stormed off, proceeding to block her, wishing I had done it sooner.
