Diary of a Wimpy Kid is comedy, and The Emigrants is historical fiction, so maybe look for books that have those genres?

I don't know, but have you tried reading Fahrenheit 451, Animal Farm, Sherlock Holmes (I recommend starting with the first book but, whatever you want), Lord of the Flies, or maybe some more classics? If you're not the most advanced reader, try starting with Animal Farm or Sherlock Holmes, but, some of my favorites are Fahrenheit 451 or Lord of the Flies, and I've also tried reading a book called "Pride and Prejudice" you may have heard of it, but I couldn't get a hold of the plot and lost interest after a few chapters, try that one if you'd like to challenge both your vocabulary and comprehension.

I read Animal Farm in the 6th grade and never understood it ever since

Animal Farm is an allegory. I remember when I read it. Don't take it too literally because it's about the Russian Revolution. It's about politicians, scandals, and schemes as well as common man. It's actually a pretty good book; you just have to understand it and what it means. The book isn't literally about talking pigs tricking animals on a farm; it goes a lot deeper than that.

@Johnny You speak of that last one; have you tried Walden? Not gonna lie Walden is not an easy read. It takes concentration to comprehend and stay focused in it but it's well worth it. One of my favorite quotes came from that book.

Oh, that's alright, if you're lexille level's a bit higher now, you can try it again. But try Fahrenheit 451 or Sherlock Holmes.

Oh, cool, I'll try placing a hold on it the next time I go to the library.

(And I guess you can call me Johnny, I told nobi that Joe was the shortest and should be used, but whatever you want)
