Question

Hey everyone.

Warning: Contains mentions of death, self harm, depression, & LGBTQIA+ topics.

As a transgender kid in America (I'm nonbinary and gfluid), I am scared for my life. My country has proposed over 400+ anti trans and LGBTQIA+ bills in 2023 alone. I already suffer from depression and unaliving-myself thoughts, and I don't expect to live very long.

There have been bills passed (mainly in Florida) that legalize the kidnapping of trans kids. If I ever stop using this site out of the blue, then, well its self explanatory.

I'm from the northeastern US, so I am in a fairly safe state, but that doesn't stop me from fearing for my life. (I know I've already made posts about this, but ever day new bills are proposed and passed, and it just scares me. The death rate of trans KIDS in the US is going up slowly)

I'm either going to be killed or end myself. Neither are good, but that's what this country has done to me. I am going to move out of this country when I turn 18. I literally can't with this country.

You all don't have to respond to this. I probably wouldn't either (I wouldnt know what to say).

I WILL RESPOND TO THIS CAUSE IVE GOT SOME OPINIONS

I had some severe depression like 3 months ago so I can really relate. Please don’t unalive yourself, hurt yourself, anything like that, because.. I get that awful feeling. If you leave this world I WILL MISS YOU (and I will not hide the fact that I have only really known you for 2-3 weeks). Your an amazing, beautiful person. Even if your trans, your amazing. I hate those bad feelings, I still get them. But just… please. You know what, not even please. DONT UNALIVE YOURSELF. THAT IS NOT AN OPTION. THE OPTIONS ARE (live) or (live). THE END. PICK ONE

Okay now hang on. FLORIDA DID WHAT? That doesn’t make sense. LEGALIZING ******* KIDNAPPING FOR ANY PERSON, ESPECIALLY PEOPLE IN THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN!!, IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG. I DONT KNOW POLITICS SO I HAD NO IDEA BUT WHAT THE ACTUAL (*censored) (*censored) (*censored) (*censored) @#$&!!! THIS GOT ME SO DANG ANGRY IM CRYING. WHAT THE ACTUAL (*censors more of the words I just wrote). NOW NOT ONLY DO THOSE KIDS GET KIDNAPPED AND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN, WHICH IS SO WRONG, BUT LITERALLY ANY KIDNAPPER CAN CLAIM SOMEONE IS TRANS AND KIDNAP HAVE A CHANCE OF JUST GETTING OUT OF IT SCOT FREE. WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICA?! There is a reason I’ve been unenthusiastic today about the fourth of July, just with America in general.

Don’t unalive yourself, and stay safe. When you turn eighteen, and you WILL get to eighteen, take me with you! I’ll find you somehow and we can flee! don’t forget me though or I’ll be tracking you down and scaring you to death as a greeting :)

Yeah, Florida is the worst place for a trans person in the U.S. Once I saw a Florida pride shirt, and I'm just like, why Florida?

Yeah, Florida did that. I have so much I could say about it but so little time. They are literally making KIDNAPPING legal. Kidnapping of ANY sort should never, and I mean NEVER even be remotely legal. And they are MINORS; CHILDREN.

They also passed a bill to make it so trans teachers in schools can get misgendered (so far example, if there were a trans male teacher, its legal for their students to misgender them and call them she/her, woman, etc).

There are laws all across the US to descriminate against us. I'm not big into politics, in fact I strongly dislike them, but this just saddens me. Some bills even go so far as to attempt to ban gender affirming healthcare for trans minors and adults. I know hate is a very strong word, but I hate America.

Thank you so much, I will definitely try. Aw, escaping America with you would be so fun! We could grab coffee (or juice xD) as we make our daring escape lol.

The courts are doing it because there is a problem. They take kids (all kids) away for all kinds of reasons. Like abuse and poverty and criminal problems and all kinds of things. Doing that for opposing parents seems no different.

Okay, mate, I don't know where you're getting your info from, but "legal kidnapping" is stretched a little. I know, there are headlines called that. I did a bit of research on this. It's nonsense.

Nobody is allowed to kidnap trans kids, even in FL. What they're saying (and somehow calling "kidnapping") is that courts have been given the right to intervene in custody disputes and remove trans kids from gender-affirming parents. Listen, courts do this ALL THE TIME for kids in tough, unsafe, or economically challenged situations (I guess I was the unlucky one). They're talking about that and gender-affirming healthcare.

Again, THE KIDNAPPING OF ANY INDIVIDUAL (INLCLUDING TRANS KIDS) IS NOT LEGAL ANYWHERE IN THE STATES (INCLUDING FLORIDA).

They're taking away some kids from parents for receiving gender affirming care. They're still taking the kids away.

No. These parents are doing nothing wrong by getting gender affirming care for their children. If parents aren't being good parents and literally putting the kid's life at risk, yes, kids deserve a better place. But they don't need to be taken away for getting gender affirming care. If they don't get gender affirming care, then the lives could be at risk. The parents who are giving children this gender affirming care are not doing anything wrong and, in fact, probably saving a life.

Hey, I'm truly supportive of you, but uh... Can you not mention ending yourself?

I don't like to hear people that I care about just nonchalantly talk about intentionally kicking the bucket. Kinda makes me emotional, not to make this all about me. I just, uh... I don't really know how to reply to things like this...
