A week later, Steve said “Alright kiddos, this prank involves all of you so listen closely. Zuri, you have to PRETEND PvP Alex, Makenna, you adventure out to the middle of the forest. I know you can survive. Ari, you use all the supplies I’m giving you to craft whatever you want. Noor, you get do draw on the walls and I’ll yell at you for doing that so, she thinks I’m distracted. Efe, you hide her favorite coffee mug. Whatever you do, do NOT break it. Once it’s hidden, ‘ll give you my phone and you can record her reaction. Sunny, you build a huge creeper out of the blocks provided and Kai, you have to build a redstome machine that will automatically play enderman sounds. We’ll do this tomorrow. Makenna, I’ll tomorrow show you where I want you to stay.”
Alex then came down Steve quickly turned on the TV and had all the kids sit on the couch.
Alex said “Nothing suspicious. I’m going to eat breakfast.
Steve said “Okay, keep this a secret from Alex. Got it?”
Alex said “Keep what a secret?”
Steve looked around hopefully at his kids.
Noor said “We were planning a surprise party for you. But, now we can’t have it bcause you know.”
Alex said “Good.”
The next morning, Steve woke up Makenna and said “Hey, time to go.”
Steve and Makenna went to the center of the forest and Steve said “Stay right there. I’ll be back for you in a few hours.”
Steve then came home to see the giant creeper and nodded and said “Come in”
Steve then saw the automatic sound player and nodded. Steve then looked for Alex’s special mug and found it was in his sock drawer. Steve nodded and said “Okay, I’ll wake her up” after giving the phone.
He then woke Alex up and said “Alex! Alex! Makenna… She’s run off”
“My poor baby! I’ll go looking for her right after my coffee”
Steve said “Got it?”
Efe nodded.
Steve said “Come with me”
Alex was opening the cabinet where er mug usually was and said “Oh my gosh! Nothing is going right today. Well at least there’s no enderman in the house.”
Alex then activated the enderman trap and she jumped int Steve’s arms and said “Please take me to Makenna”
Alex then saw Ari crafting random items.
Alex yelled “Uurg. Nothing is going right! Unles this is some totally elaborate prank you’re pulling on me.”
Steve said “It really is just a extremely bad day”
Alex nodded and said “Okay I’ll go adventurling ooking for her. You just keep an eye on the kids.”
Noor the started to draw on the walls and said “Look at me Steve!”
Steve yelled “Stop it!” Noor then stopped and said “Go right ahead. Lecture me on this.”
Steve said “Not right now! Definitely later. You go look for Makenna.”
Alex grabbed her phone and rushed out Sunny following close behind.
Steve said “Zuri! When she gets home challange her to a PvP battle. Use my wooden sword and when you get down to two health fall backwards like you died”
Alex then came back carrying Makenna.
Alex said “Steven! Look closely at Makenna.”
Steve looked closely at Makenna’s arm and saw there was a massive cut.”
Steve said “Zuri, don’t you want to do some PvP with one of us?”
“Yeah I want Steve!”
Steve nodded and went to the backyard and began the battle. When Zuri got down to two points of health, she yelled “I am done! You’re just too good!” and ran inside.
Alex said “Steve? Nothing is going my way today!”
Steve then ran inside completely out of breath.
Then he got a call from the doctor saying “Oh, It may be way to late to ell you this but you have to drop PvP forever!”
Steve said “I just completed a battle. I won by forfeit. My opponent said that I was just too good.”
The doctor said “Welp, be prepared to live a very miserable rest of your life.” and hung up.
Steve said “Zuri! Come here!”
Zuri came to Steve and said “Yeah?”
“Well… I have some news to break to you.” and sighed
“It isn’t about PvP is it?”
“It actually is. I have to quit forever. I’ll live a very miserable rest of my life because of the battle I did with you.”
Zuri said “Who will help me?!”
“I guess I have to use Oliver. We stopped being friends a long time ago. But, he may have forgiven me.”
Alex said “Steve, I’m sorry, he hasn’t. He may do it for me though at a small fee.”
Steve then got a call from the council that said “Hello Steve, you’ve been invited to the greatest PvP game of all time. If you decline your family’s legacy will shatter.”
Steve said :My doctor told me not to! But, my family’s legacy is everything to me!”
Zuri said “Steve, I could disguise myself as you and do the battle for you.”
“Awwthanks Zuri. But, they’re too smart to fall for that.”
The council saaid “You could hand down the legacy to someone who is GENETICALLY related to you and they could do it.”
Steve said “Oky, I choose Zuri.”
“We’ll have to do some tests to see if she really is genetically related to you. Show up tomorrow?”
Steve gulped nervously and tugged his collar and said “Not a problem” and hung up
Zuri said “Steve! I’m not genetically related to you! You must be going crazy!”
Steve said “Zuri! You listen here! You have to study up on my family or I’ll have to do this battle.”
“And you can’t because…?”
“My doctor said not to! Now get to studying! You also have a day to perfect my special move!”
Zuri gulped and said “I’ll see what I can do.”
Steve said “Good!”
Steve burrowed his face in hs hands and wailed “Why did I do that?!”
The nxt morning, Steve woke up to find Zuri studying downstairs.
When Zuri saw Steve, she yawned and said “Well… It wasn’t easy but, I managed to perfect your special move and researched all of the PvP legends in your family.”
Steve said “Geez, you really are pushing for a favorite! You’ll never beat Alex or Kathy. Now e have to get going! And I know you won’t get enough sleep, but, sleep in the car!”
And went to the car. Once the tests were done, Steve was repeating “please be yes”. When the council said no, Steve wailed “Why does the world torment me in such ways”
Zuri helped Steve out and once out said “”Steve, I know you’ve had a rough day. But, if this will help in any way, tomorrow is your birthday”
Then the council came out and said “On closer consideration, nobody has made it to the game of the year so fast, you must hand down your legacy. Hand in your diamond encrusted netherite sword.”
Steve said “It's not like I carry it with me!”
“Pick through his inventory guys!” and all ov a sudden some really tough guys came out and said “Diamond encrusted netherite sword?”
Steve gulped and reached into his inventory and pulled it out and dropped it on the ground and said “Take it! It’s yours”. And ran away with Zuri as fast as possible.
One of the tough guys topped Steve’s car and another one opened the door and said “Geez, the logest lasting legacy being over?! No! We’re just giving the sword to a younger more aggressive version of you. Remember Zuri, we’ll send people to your house at 3:45 PM every day. Free of charge…. Well until you make it big.”’
Zuri said “Can I please attend?”
Steve aid “I guess” and sighed.
A month later was the greatest PvP game of all time. Steve had gotten fat by not moving.
When Alex said “Steve! Time to go to the big PvP game! I’m a bit suprised you aren’t bugging everyone to get out of the house.”
Steve said “I’m not participating.”
“Wait what?!”
“Not participating. So, I can’t go.”
Alex nodded and said “You can go. Most of your big games I’ve watched”
Steve sighed heavily and said “I don’t want to.”
“Zuri! Get in here and bring your supplies!”
Zuri rushed in and said “Yeah?”
“You need to convince Steve to go.”
Zuri drew her sword and said “Steve, if you don’t attend, I’ll chop up all your PvP awards”
Steve sighed and said “I’m sorry, I’ll just be too sad to enjoy it.”
Zuri said “Please? I’ve always gone to yours! The least you can do is go to mine.”
Steve sighed and said “Okay” and got out of bed.
He got dressed in his old outfit he wore to the council building and everyone left to go to the game.
Alex said “Aww, Steve, you’ll always be the best one in our family!”
Steve said “Thanks.” then they arrived at the arena.
Steve looked at it and then got out.
Zuri said “Sit in the front row please?”
Steve said “I now qualify to sit in the retired legends box”
Alex said “I’m sorry kids, you can’t come with daddy”
Noor said “Please take me!”
Steve said “I’m allowed to take my family.”
When they got to the sign ins, the person said “Steve Stonecutter?! The line for participants is over there.” and pointed at the line Zuri was in.
Steve said “I’m sorry, I have retired. I handed my legacy down to Zuri”
“As in the Zuri?! The one who rose to the ranks of legend in a few months?”
“Yeah”
“Anyways you get the retired legends box. Take your family.”
Steve went to the retired legends box with his family..
When the battle started, Zuri started to destroy everyone.
Once she had won, Alex ran out of the box and hugged Zuri and said “Oh my special little honey bunch.”
Steve came out with the rest of the kids and said “Greay job! You’re covered in the sweat of a champion!” and left.
Steve said “Zuri! We’re going out to eat tonight!”
Alex said “Steve! Tonight is th night you promised Kathy a special dinner of just her and you in honor of her 100th birthday.”
Steve said “Oh dear! I did promise that, didn't I?”
“Yeah” and got back home.
When Steve got home, he said “Guys, would you mind if we went out tomorrow?”
Zurisaid “No.” with everyone else.
The next night, they went out to eat.
Afterwards, Zuri said “Steve! I’m getting inducted into the hall of fame next week!”
Alex said “Zuri! No you aren’t! You have to have dome it for at least five years.”
Steve said “Actually…you need 150 or more points.”
Zuri said “Are you proud of me?”
“Yes!” as he finished his burger.
When Alex saw Zuri getting pestered by almost everyone that was there, she said “Steve, want to take Zuri to the car?”
“No!”
“Okay.”
30 minutes later, they had left the restaurant.
Zuri said “Steve, did you ever have the problem of having everyone ask you for signatures?”
“Yes, in fact I did.. Even more than what you hve.”
Then someone ran up to Steve and said “Excuse me Steve Stonecutter, I was hoping you could-”
“Do a PvP battle against me? Ain’t gonna happen!”
“No, I was hoping you could give a presentation on PvP at Creeper middle school.”
“How many days and how long each?”
“Three full school days”
Steve said “Okay”
Zuri said “Steve, may I please help you?”
“Nope, sorry Zuri.”
Zuri nodded and Steve asked “when?”
“Preferabally in a month.”
Steve nodded and said “I understand”
The first day of the presentation, Steve introduced himself.
Once he did, all the kids yelled “We want Zuri! Not whatever you’re supposed to be!”
Zuri then came up onstage and said “Please be kind to Steve! He’s a loving father with a kind and gentle soul.”
Steve said “Zuri! You’re embarrassing me! Sit back down!”
Zuri went back to her seat and Steve began the lecture.
At lunchtime, he sat with Zuri and said “Zuri, you realize there is a member of the council here! PvP legends can’t have that kind of soul! Okay?! So, I know by the time I get home ALL the PvP stuff I own will have been taken!”
“Sorry”
Then Steve completed the lecture.
Once home, he collapsed on the couch.
He said “Alex! I’m home!”
Alex said “Aww sweetie. I was so worried about you.”
“Same here honey! Zuri doomed my career though!”
“I thought you’d retired”
“Legends may never retire!”
“Oh”
“Just kidding. But, if I were still doing PvP I would be screwed!”
Zuri said “So, why didn’t Ari come home with me?”
“Oh. Apparently, she punched the person right nxt to her at the assembly. She got suspended.”
Steve said “Any expensive camps for her?”
“Well… only Treetop lodge”
“That’s not too bad”
Steve then called for Ari. But, she didn’t come.”
Steve said “Really? Why isn’t she coming?”
“She’s probably playing video games or something”
Steve started to punch his fist and yelled “Ari! Come her now!”
Alex said “Ari! Yu can come out now!”
Ari came out covered in creeper faces.
Steve gulped and said “Oh dear! Ari has creepe pox!”
Alex said “Sadly, I’ve never had it and it’s really deadly for people our age”
Steve gulped and said “I know I shouldn’t be telling you this. But, I had it when I was about her age. I literally had to drop out of three big PvPgames. Why it took so long for me to rise to my current rank”
Ari then coughed on Steve. Steve backed away slowly and said “No way am I helping her with caring for herself! I had to do it myself! She has to too!”
“Steven Sylvester Oliver Swapnil Stevenson Stonecutter! I am well aware when you were her age you had no parents! Just care for her for a week. That’s all I ask”
“Nope! I have to speak at the school for two more days.”
Alex said “I have the PvP council on the phone currently I’m on mute. They can make your like a heck of a lot worse!”
“How?!”
“Let me see… destroying your arena.”
“That’s Zuri’s now”
“Removing you from BOTH halls of fame.”
Steve sighed and said “Okay fine. I’ll just call the school to tell them.I can’t do the rest of the lectures”
“Good job!”
Zuri then cam up to Steve and said “Excuse me, don’t I have to do my training?”
“Oh yeah… about that. After the trining session yesterday, they said you’re as good as they will train you to be for free. I made the executive decision to drop them.”
“Why?! The next times it would have been perfecting my special move!”
“Sorry, I had to.” then he looked at Ari who was peeling off the creepers.”
Steve yelled “Why did you prank me! I hate pranks!”
Alex said “Ari still felt guilty for playing the prank the whole family played on me and came clean. She got picked up early because she had an appointment YOU were supposed to take her to!”
Steve said “Geez! I’m three years older than you! You think you can cut me some slack?! About appointments…I have an appointmentI to get some bloodwork done next week and get my driving license renewed in a week. I know I’ll fail because my vision is getting worse by the day.”
Alex said “Steve! We have to get all the swords out of this house!”
Steve said “No! I want Zuri to b able to follow her dreams!”
“Well I want you to be safe!”
“Let’s ask Zuri.”
“Well… As long as you can still see, I guess we could keep all of them.”
Steve said “Aww Alex. Did I ever tell you that I love you?”
“Yes you did.”
Zuri then came in and said “I heard my nam mentioned in a fight! Are you staying together?”
“Yes. For the foreseeable future we will stay together” said Steve.
Alex slapped Steve and said “No! We won't, we've had one too many fights! We have to get split up in a month! Unless Steve can straighten up!”
Steve nodded and the next two days did a speech at the school.
The next week, Steve got his license revoked. \
He said “Alex, take me home. I can’t anymore.” and started to cry.
Once home, Alex said “Steve, I know you are upset. I can always take you places. Now that we have to stay together forever”
Noor came into the living room and said “Steve, umm Zuri broke her phone.”
“She what?!”
Alex said “Chill out Steve. You just need to buy her a new one.”
“You think I can afford that?! As it is we’re already pretty much eating sand!”
Noor said “Eww! Sand?!”
Alex said “Yeah. He’s just kidding”
Noor said ‘Ha ha! Just a prank.
Steve said “Well, we actually do eat mostly sand.”
Alex shoved Steve and said “That’s supposed to be a secret between just us!”
ZNoor yelled “Hey siblings! We eat mostly sand!”
All the kids ean upstairs and yelled “How dare you!” and pushed Steve over and jumped one him.
Alex said “Kids! Stop it! We were just kidding about eating mostly sand.”
All the kids got off Steve and said “We’re so sorry about that.”
Alex said “Kids, I’ll take you all grocery shopping if Stevie here promises to clean up the mess in the basement.”
“How bad is it?”
“Paint all over the carpet.”
“Nope!”
Noor said “Please?”
“I said no!”
Alex said “Well… too bad!”
Steve got onto his knees and begged “Please no”
Alex sighed and said “Fine mister! But, you have to go shopping with the kids!”
“Deal”
“Oh wait… you can’t!”
“Oh. Welp, I guess I have to clean the basement.” and sighed heavily.d
“Would you like the kids to come with me or stay with you?”
“Zuri can stay here. She does have PvP training today”
Zuri said “I thought you said that got canceled!”
“Yeah, I rehired the council to train you. Their prices are really cheap right now.”
“Aww thanks”
Noor said “You never pay any attention to any of the rest of us! It’s always just Zuri!”
“Well… Maybe if you were good at PvP…”
