Steve nodded and said “I think I’ll go to hardcore for that long”
Kathy said “What Steve!? No! Do not do that! If you do, you probably will never come back!”
Steve says “Why not?”
“Have you ever listened to the exploration news station?”
“Nah, I’ve really only listened to the PvP news ones”
Kathy said “Can we talk this over with Alex and Carol?”
“Sure. Carol is caring for her mother who has fallen very ill.”
“Oh. Well then I guess it’s just you and me then. I want to discuss it with you in private.”
That was when Carol arrived.
She said “Steve! I’m back”
Steve says “Tell them”
Kathy said “Alex, Carol, come into Steve’s house with me and Steve for a few minutes!”
They both look at Kathy confused and say “Why? Is something going to change our lives forever?”
“Possibly”
Alex said “Oh is Steve wanting to go to hardcore for the next ten years?”
Kathy nods.
Both Alex and Carol say “Okay, we know why. We listen to the adventure news station”
And they all head into Steve’s house and sit on the couch.
Kathy says “Who would you like to give the reasons for not going to hardcore?”
“How many are there?”
“Three”
“All of you get one”
Alex says “It’s has been glitching for years”
“And it hasn’t been fixed yet?”
“Yeah, nobody can figure out how to fix it. Minecraft may have to be deleted if it spreads. And it’s already in all other modes but this one. ”
Then Steve said “Umm… I did see a random chunk to the build limit and an enderman not take water damage a few nights ago”
Alex said “Oh no! The glitches are already here! I’d say we have another twenty years tops here before deletion!”
Carol sStarted to breathe heavily and said “Oh dear! Only FIVE YEARS LEFT to live if that?! Steve! You better start PvPing every day.”
“Remember my skill got taken in exchange for Alex respawning?”
Alex says “Uhh Steve, she wasn’t here when that happened.”
“Oh anyway, it won’t let people out of it.”
Kathy said “And there’s extra damage now!”
Steve said “Oh dear! Yeah… I don’t think I’ll go to hardcore ever again.”
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and said “Steve, maybe you should give back all the things you griefed from people in your days as Tristan and maybe you can look like Tristan did too.”
Steve said “But that was when I was like ten to 13!”
“So? You could still repay them.”
Steve nodded and said “I guess I should so the guilt won’t haunt me any more. I’ll go check my greifing plans book. I know I kept it'' And went over to his bookshelf and found it.
He flipped through it and saw it was totally full on the last page it said more in book 2.
He said “What?! More?!”
He looked for book two and found it. He looked through it and saw there was another book. He took down book three to see there was yet another one. He pulled down book four and saw there was yet another one. He found book five and pulled it down and saw it was the last one.
He said “Whew. I was worried I had done more. In fact, I’d forgotten how much griefs I had done. I thought it was only 100 to 250, NOT over 500!”
Alex says “Don’t worry Steve, I still accept you.”
Kathy and Carol both turn their heads away from Steve and turn their noses up at him and say “We’re sorry Steve, we don’t accept you anymore than we accepted Xander.”
Steve said “Oh my gosh! I completely forgot about him! You made fun of him until he left the village. And he was my BEST FRIEND! Back when I was just getting done with griefing.”
Kathy said “Yeah, sorry ‘bout that. We didn’t realize how attached to him you became. I was one of the few who didn’t pick on him.”
“Kathy, if I remember correctly actually, you were one of the WORST ONES! I became friends with you because you are nice now. And our friendship is hereby cut”
Kathy said “Steve! Not in the last five years!”
Steve said “I’m sorry. I can’t stay friends with someone who picked on my best friend until he left the village! In fact, you were the one that started it!... that is if my memory is correct”
Kathy said “Alright! I’ll admit it! I was one of the first to pick on him! But, I was definitely not the worst!”
“Oh yeah?! Then who was the worst?”
“You!”
“What?! Seriously, who was the worst?”
“Fine it was Henry.”
“Makes sense being the meanest one in the village. We can still be friends, just not close ones.”
“Good”
Alex said “Steve, would you like me to help you get the things you griefed again?”
“Yeah.”
Steve looked at the second last page with writing in the fifth book and saw it said save until people trust Steven Stonecutter look at the next page. Steve found the last book. Steve looked through it and said “Or alternately go on one last big grief and-”
He cut himself off when he saw what he was going to grief and who from. He was going to greif the very rare diamond and emerald studded netherite chestplate.
Alex said “Steve! No! I can’t believe you’re considering that!”
Steve said “Fine! I guess I won’t”
“Good! Now let’s see what you griefed”
Steve picked up the books and looked through them and said “Oh wow! I took primarily worthless things!”
Alex says “So should you even be in the hall of fame?”
“Yes”
