Steve asked “So Oliver, last year you were announcer at the PvP game of the year?”
“Yes! Why do you ask Steve?”
“Well, I got an email from the PvP committee that said I’m invited to all the major PvP events this year. It also said you were fired from being an announcer at the big PvP events. Would you mind telling me what happened?”
“Don’t you remember?!”
“I’m sorry, I don’t”
“I was late and favored you. I am doing a PvP game tomorrow you can try being announcer for it as you are announcer for a big PvP event”
“Who are you battling?”
“Oh sorry I didn't tell you. But, I am kind of doing PvP now. I look up to you, I always have. I am battling your brother; James.”
“Seriously?! He has always hated PvP and everything related to PvP”
“Well he may have changed.”
“Well … If he is training to be the next Steven Stonecutter; forget it. It’ll be a cold day in the nether before that happens.”
Oliver said “Steve, I want to be the next Steven Stonecutter. I kind of sort of said the battle would be in your arena”
“What?! I didn’t say you could!”
“Sorry I didn’t ask you if it was okay with you.”
“It’s fine”
By that time it was 9:00 and Steve went to bed.
The next morning, Oliver was pacing the floor worried.
Steve asked, “What's wrong?”
“We won’t make it on time!” Oliver said
Steve said “Actually, remember that teleporter?”
“Yes!”
“We can use that.”
“Okay. May I please have some tips?”
“Well, remember my battles? Do what I usually did”
“Okay.”
Steve and Oliver activated the teleporter and ended up in Steve’s other house.
Then they headed to the arena.
Steve removed the filter for the diamond doorway and said “You want my arena?”
“You’re giving it to me?!”
“Well … If you win this battle”
“Okay”
Then James arrived in tears. James looked very disheveled.
Steve went over to James and asked “What’s wrong?”
“I have to carry on the family legacy of PvP legends. I always feared it would come down to me. And I have to get better at PvP than you and I will never be able to do that.”
Steve said “Family legacy?! The only PvP legend in the family is me.”
James said “Yeah about that … Everyone up to our great great great great great great great great great great grandparents were PvP legends. Did you ever wonder why you were so good at it?”
“I guess I never really thought about it before.”
“Are you going to make me continue the legacy even though I am the worst at PvP?”
“No I will not. Unless it is required for there to be a PvP legend from our family at all times.”
James said “Actually there does.. I also just saw our parents and they weren’t doing too well.”
“What?! Where are they?!”
“Well …. I can show you after the battle.”
“Why not now?”
“Well … I have to do this battle.”
“Okay. I’ll go to the announcer’s booth.”
“Can you please give me some tips?”
“Run and jump.”
Steve then headed up to the announcer's booth. He forgot how big it was.
Oliver came up and said “Steve, The PvP news is interviewing James and he is getting all tensed up. Your family’s legacy will be ruined.”
Steve rushed back down to the arena and found James. James was stammering.
Steve said “James I got this! I’ve been interviewed by the PvP news team so many times.”
James said “But you look very different than me. Well in terms of build.”
Steve said “Okay James. I was nervous with my first ever PvP news interview.”
“Any tips?”
“Umm …. Just pretend you are alone in your house talking about PvP.”
“This is awkward, but I have no home and I never talk about PvP”
Steve said “Okay, I can build you a home. It’ll be small but if that’s okay with you.”
Oliver then said “Do you at least live in a vil;ager’s home?”
James said “Yes.”
Steve said “Okay I will not let you live in my village! You may take over one of my friend’s houses!”
James began to laugh and yelled “you are friends with villagers?!”
Steve said “Umm, yeah anything wrong with that?”
James responded “Don’t you remember when we used to talk every night. And you said at school people made fun of you?”
Steve glared at James and yelled “Yes! But it didn’t stop me! I still get made fun of for being friends with villagers but now my other friends protect me.”
The news said “Steve?! How do you feel that your younger brother is taking over PvP?”
“Well, I feel kind of annoyed. I didn’t want to hand down the crown until 79”
The news tram said “Oh yes you have to give in your PvP crown.”
“But- But-But I worked hard to get that crown and James hates PvP!”
James nodded and said “Yes I hate PvP but, I’ve got to continue the legacy. Deal if he wins the big PvP games this year, he will not have to give me the crown but if he loses he does.”
“Okay”
Steve nodded and said “Thank you”
Oliver said “Um Steve, can we start the battle?”
Steve nodded and went up to the announcer’s room.
Oliver and James went to their prep rooms.
Steve was surprised to hear James was the first one to press the button. As soon as James pressed the button, Oliver pressed the button in his room.
Steve said “James please come out of your room and go to the block that matches your room’s block.”
James slowly left the room and went to the lapis block. The redstone doorway slid open and Oliver came to the redstone block.
Steve yelled “Okay, this is James’ first PvP battle in a long time. This is about …..” He trailed off
Oliver yelled “He took over my house!”
Steve said “James took over Oliver’s house”.
Oliver yelled “Press the microphone button”
Steve pressed the pink button with a microphone on it. Microphones dropped in front of the two competitors.
Oliver said “Hi, I am Oliver Redner Olivander. I was Steve’s announcer when he did PvP. This is my second PvP battle. I was Steve’s announcer the whole time he competed in this arena.”
James said “I am James Swapnil Stevenson Sylvester Oliver Stonecutter. This is my fifth PvP battle. I am Steve’s brother.”
The crowd then started cheering louder than it had ever cheered for Steve.
Steve announced”Start the fight”
James drew his iron sword and ran at Oliver. Oliver dodged it. Oliver then ran at James diamond sword in hand. Oliver attacked James. James fell to the ground.James got up and ran at Oliver. He knocked out 10 of Oliver’s health. Oliver ran at James and attacked. James fell to the ground. Oliver grabbed a stick and attacked. James felt the last of his health drain and he died.
Steve announced “It appears Oliver has won. I guess the legacy is over.”
Everyone in the crowd started cheering and yelling “New face of PvP!”
The PvP news came up and asked “So, how do you feel someone outside of your family is the new face of PvP?”
“I feel very annoyed. Wait, shouldn’t I still be the face of PvP? I mean I have won way more battles than Oliver has.”
The news team said “Sorry Steve. You have to give your legacy down to another family.”
Steve said “No! I have been holding onto the legacy for ten years with no help.”
The news team said “Yeah and your brother failed miserably!”
“So?!”
“Your whole family must be good at PvP or the legacy is over. We’re sorry you now don’t qualify for any of the big PvP games.”
Steve fell to his knees and begged “Please let the legacy not be over. Please let me compete in the big PvP games.”
The news team said “We’re sorry, it isn’t up to us. It's up to your family’s sponsor.
Steve then got a call from his sponsor.
The sponsor said “Hello Steve, I have some news to break to you. First your family is getting a new sponsor. Second, the sponsor you are getting is a lot better than I am. You have to pay me for helping your family all these years.”
Steve was purely confused he asked “How did you help me? You never attended any of my PvP games.”
The sponsor said “You know all those PvP helpers that used to come to your house everyday before you told all of them to stop coming?”
“Yes. They were trying to make me fight with a bow.”
“Yes. I sent them. Now you have to pay me for sending them. I believe you owe me 500,000 diamonds.”
Steve nodded and asked “When are they due?”
“Preferably within a week”
“A week!?””
“Yes. You have been partici[ating in the PvP games that give you diamonds if you win right? Or would you like me to tell your parents you haven’t competed in a single one of those when they said they wanted you to”
“Well….. I haven’t been competing in that kind but I don’t want you to tell my parents. I am visiting them within a week”
“Well you can tell them then”
“Okay, I will. AFTER I tell them we have to hand down our legend to another family”
“Wait WHAT!?”
“I’ve retired and my little brother James lost a battle in my arena.”
“Just one loss? That is fine. BUT, if he loses 20 more your legacy will be over FOREVER. Also your contract says you have to continue PvP until you are at least 55.”
“Oh. I didn't know. I guess I should’ve checked with you before I told all my fans I’m retiring.”
“You should’ve. But, you can just play a PvP game every month. By the way if you win the PvP game of the eon next year… You may retire early”
Steve was purely confused and said “Wait, I’m already invited to that? I thought the committee only decided a month or less in advance”
“They do but with you they planned on letting you go ever since you became a legend. By the way, you are your family’s last hope at making it to the PvP hall of fame. You are so very close. You just have to win three more big PvP games. I know you have never had a medic on site for the big PvP games but this time there will be a medic.”
“Oh okay. Why this year?”
“Well … Someone competing has a condition where they need a medic on site whenever they do PvP. If I remember correctly it’s your brother; James”
“Wait?! JAMES is competing in the big PvP games?! But- But- But one of the criteria is a PvP legend!”
“Yes. They thought he was also a legend because of how big of a legend you are.”
“But-”
James said “Steve! I made it to the PvP game of the year! Are you competing?”
“No,I'm the announcer.”
“But, why can’t Oliver?”
“He got fired last year.”
“Oh for what?”
Oliver was crying.
Steve said “I think Oliver doesn’t want me to tell you.”
Oliver said “It’s okay Steve, if he wants to know just tell him.”
Steve ran over to Oliver and asked “Is everything okay? I mean you saying if he wants to know tell him, is out of character for you. “
Oliver showed Steve his phone and said “The girl is my sister. She got married to her boyfriend recently and she didn’t even invite me!”
“How do you know you could have just not checked your mail.”
“Every night I went home to check. I slept for five hours and then headed back to your house.”
“Oh okay.. How did you make it back on time?”
“Well …. Your house near your arena is near my house so, I just used your teleporter”
“You what?!”
Steve’ agent said “Steven! You are nearly in the Pv hall of fame! You need training!”
“But, am I not the number one PvP master?”
“Well.. actually your are fourth. To make it to the hall of fame-”
“I know I have to win three more big battles.”
“Yes. BUT you also have to win against the number one PvP geniu who is also a redston wizard and a griefer.”
“You don’t mean….”
“Yes I mean.”
“Emma Neal?!”
“Yes.”
“But she has never lost a PvP game. She has won the redstone championships. She has also wob the greifing championships. Which I think are stupid. She actually was the one who inspired me to become a PvP legend!”
“Yes. By the way you are ib the redstone championships this year your new agent signed you up. I’ll transfer you over to your new agent.”
The agent transferred the call.
The person on the other end said “Steve?! Your redstone trainers have been waiting outside your house for two hours.”
“Tell them to leave! I will not be home until late tomorrow.”
“You want the redstone championships?”
“Nope”
“The prize is a spot int the redstone hall of fame”
“One comtest and the hall of fame?”
“Yes. Wait you have won 50 redstone battles before right?”
“Not even one!”
“Well you need those trainers!”
“Why?! I never have been into redstone!”
“Well, I am an agent that helps with redstone stuff”
Then Steve’s agent transferred the call back.
Steve said “That person signed me up for a redstone competition and thought I had competed in 50 redstone competitions.”
“Yeah. I accidentally made you a client of someone who deals with redstone contests not PvP.”
Steve sighed and said “It’s okay Mr Endews I am very forgiving. But this agent sent redstone trainers to my house and-”
“Wait what?! You’ve got to get home now! Those guys only stay for three hours before destroying the house! A/nd each minute they have to wait means 500 extra diamonds How long have they been there?”
‘Two and three quarters hours.”
“Oh dear. You will become broke and have no house. You don’t have to pay me back ntil you have enough. Please tell me you have enough to pay the redstone trainers back. Each five minutes of training is 5,000 diamonds and each lesson s usually at least 2 hours”
Steve was back at his house near the arena. He said “I don’t even have 1,000,000 diamonds. How long do I have to pay them back?”
“End of session”
“What?! What will they d if I don’t have enough?”
“Well … they will grief you of everything except your bed.”
“Even my PvPawards?!”
“Yes”
“No! All my pride and joy will be taken away! Bye.”
And Steve teleported home.
Steve rushed to the door and saw there were 5 people there. They said “We believe you now need to pay us each 54,900 diamonds”
Steve gulped nervously and said “I’m sorry I don’t have that much. I can try to get it to you by the end of the week.”
The trainers looked at each other and said “Well… deal. BUT, Each day there’s a 500,000 diamond tax.”
Steve nodded and said “Wait a moment! I think there is a PvP game where the winner gets 50,000,000 diamonds.”
Then the trainers looked closely at Steve and said “Oh Steve! We didn’t know it was you you get the celebrity discount. You get 95% off.”
Steve nodded and said “I have that much let me get it for you. “
Then the trainers said “Wait Steve! You don’t have to pay for the time it took you to come.”
“Whew. So, t be honest I have never done a Redstone game before I have no clue how they work”
“Okay. Beginner’s fee is 500 per 20 minutes. “
“But, PvP is my thing.”
Then one of them said “Steven Stonecutter?! I’ve attended all your PvP games. I'm in love with you! I am always the first one there. You know those roses that used to be thrown from one spot? That was me throwing the roses. I am your biggest fan! May I please meet your girlfriends?”
“You know I have many?”
“Yes!”
Alex and Carol then telepoted to the house and said “Stevie, Who are these people?”
“Redstone trainers. One of them is my biggest fan.”
Alex said “Hi, guys I’m Alex his girlfriend”
Carol said “I'm Carol, his other girlfriend.”
The one who said they were Steve’s biggest fan then said “Nice to meet you girls! Where’s your announcer?”
Steve called Oliver and said “Oliver come to my house. The one in the taiga village”
Oliver teleported to Steve’s house and came out and said “I’m Oliver and I am his announcer. Now may I please go back, I was trying to find someone to be the new announcer of.”
The person said “Steve, I’ve looked up to you ever since your first game. Are you really retired?”
“Well, I can’t yet. My contract says I can at 55 but my agent says if I win the PvP game of the eon next year I can early.”
“Guys I want you all to go! I need to interview Steve.”
Stedve said “No way! I don’t want to be reminded of my PvP days.”
“Please?”
Steve did an exasperated sigh and said “Fine. Who are you anyways?”
““I’m Minecraftnerd”
“Oh yeah. Didn’t you get temporarily banned from watching my PvP games?”
“Umm Not that I can remember. All I know is at the battle where you battled Sam someone came to me and said I couldn’t attend five of your games.”
“Did you follow the instructions?”
“Nope. I disguised myself to get in. And for all the games it was extremely hot. I never forgave you for that”
“Oh. Sorry about that. I just was getting hit by the roses you threw at me.”
“Oh. Sorry about that.”
“It’s fine. Do you still want to interview me?”
“Not really. Now I know it was your game that got me banned for five games not someone else who uses the arena”
“Wait others use my arena?!”
“Yes. I would love it if you considered coming out of retirement for a battle with me”
“Well … I have to continue PvP for at least another year.”
“So yes?!”
“Sure why not?”
“I can train you with redstone for free if you want. Just don’t tell your agent.”
“Why do I need an agent for redstone?! I don’t like it! I mean it's cool and all. But it’s not my passion”
“What?! I thought all your fame would make you nice but in reality you are a MEANIE!”
Alex and Carol then came over to Steve and hugged his arms and said “Stevie, will you stand for this?”
“No way!!! Minecraftnerd! You are banned from ever seeing any games of anyone in my family forever!”
“But- But- But- What about my desire to watch a PvP game done by you or someone from your family? You are WORSE than I thought!”
“Now you can never watch any of my games I may still do on TV!”
“What?! You just keep getting worse! You are now worse than Tristan!”
“What?! I am NOT worse than the best griefer of all time! I feel guilty when I kill passive mobs for food! I could never ever grief someone!”
“But what about those reports a few years ago?”
“Please don’t remind me of that!”
Alex and Carol stopped hugging Steve and said “Steve? Is there something you aren’t telling us about?”
Steve gulped nervously and tugged his collar and said “A few years ago I…. destroyed the old PvP master’s house and took all his awards. In fact all my awards are actually his, the only one I earned is the one from the news team and the four most recent of the year. The only PvP games that give out awards are the big ones and the ones that give diamonds if we win and I haven't competed in any of the diamond ones.”
Minecraftnerd nodded and said “That’s all I needed to hear. Units move in!”
All of a sudden a bunch of law enforcement officers surrounded Steve and said “You have been accused of taking PvP awards from the old master of PvP Oliver Olivander and destroying his house. You have to be sent to hardcore mode for five months. When you emerge from the portal we will put a tracking chip in you so we can monitor where you are.”
Alex and Carol started to sob and said “May we please come with him? We can’t stay away from him for that long!”
Minecraftnerd said “No way! This is something only he can do. We can’t believe we took over James’ house when it was you all along.”
Steve looked hopefully at Alex, Carol, the villagers and Oliver.
Everyone said “We’re sorry Steve there is nothing we can do to save you. We’ll all miss you’”
Carol, Alex and the villagers all said “We can’t believe you did that. We’re afraid we can never see you again.”
Oliver said “It’s okay Steve. You can live in my village until your friends forgive you”
Carol, Alex and the villagers said “We will never be able to look at you the same way again!”
Steve thought I know I will fail miserably. “Take me to hardcore mode”
Steve then called all his friends from peaceful. He said “Guys, I have to stay in hardcore for five months. I may never come back.”
Minecraftnerd said “Okay fine you may take one friend with you.”
Alex said “If you pick me, I will always love you even if you do something incredibly dumb.”
Carol said “I’m still disgusted by what you did to Oliver! I never want to see you again! In fact when you get back my house in this village will be gone!”
Steve said “I guess you have to come with me Alex.”
Carol said “Okay fine I’ll go! I know where you carry your phone, if you die I can call your friends.”
Steve said “Are you sure?”
Carol said “Yes”
Steve said “I choose Carol. I’m sorry Alex, your reason was very tempting but, this may restore the broken relationship between me and Carol.”
Alex said “Fine! But if I am with Oliver when you get back don’t expect me to break up with him!”
“Okay”
All the friends on the phone said “Steve?! What did you do?!”
“A few years ago I destroyed Oliver’s house and took all his PvP awards.”
“Steve! How could you?! Well we better start planning a farewell party. Are you allowed to go to peaceful before?”
“I don’t think so.”
“Okay. If you die I want Carol to call us. Got it? If you survive I want you to call us when you get out. Got it?”
“Yes”
Minecraftnerd said “Time to go to hardcore. Say goodbye to all your friends.”
Steve said “Goodbye everyone.”
Paula the priest villager said “Steve, if you don’t make it back. I’ll be the reader at your funeral”
Steve nodded and said “Okay”
Minecraftnerd then tied Steve up with rope and put him in the helicopter.
Steve yelled “See you all in five months.”
Carol climbed into the helicopter and said “Why did you do it?”
“I thought I would never be a true PvP master.”
Carol said “Wait so Oliver was a PvP master?”
“Yeah. Until I stole all his PvP awards. I still feel extremely guilty. I will probably feel guilty until it’s over for me.”
Minecraftnerd said “Steve! We’re almost there! Say goodbye to normal mode. You do know how hardcore works right?”
“Yes! If we die, that's it, no respawns.”
“Correct”
“We’re there!”
Minecraftnerd pushed Steve out of the copter after landing and inserted a tracking chip into Steve. She also inserted a health monitor chip into Steve.
She said “Now Steve, if you are almost dead we will rescue you.”
“So, I won’t die from this?”
“Not necessarily. You just will die in peace if we can’t save you. If we get you before you die we will do everything we can to save you. Now GO!” and pushed Carol and Steve into hardcore.
