Before they left Steve packed up Alex’s dust. Steve carefully put them in a shulker box. As well as everything else he would need. Kathy gave him the food and Steve put them in the box. Then they headed off.
Steve said “Okay guys. Tell me when you’re hungry I only packed enough for three meals a day. I also packed enough for a snack for all of us once a day.” as soon as they left the village.
When they were about 30 chunks from the village, Tristan said “I forgot my stuffed animal!”
Steve said “Fine! I forgot some things too.” and turned around.
When they got back, Steve ran into his house and grabbed some potions and then ran back to the car. Tristan was sitting there holding his stuffed animal.
Kathy and Bob then got in and said “Can we please tell all our friends what we’re doing?”
Steve smiled and said “Sure. You can call all of them”
Kathy said “Steve, we would like it if we told them in person.”
Steve said “I really want Alex to respawn sooner rather than later”
Bob said “Steven!” harshly
Steve said “Now it’s an absolute no!”
“Thanks a LOT Bob! Now we can’t tell any of them” Kathy said sarcastically
Bob began to sob and said “I didn’t know he would do that.”
Steve said “I’ll let you call them still. BUT, no chit chat, just get to the point and then hang up.”
Bob and Kathy looked at each other and said “Deal.”
Tristan said “Excuse me Steve, can we please have a party with all my parent’s friends in a few weeks.”
Steve looked at Tristan and thought about it and said “Sure. I’d love a multi-village dinner again.”
Kathy and Bob looked at each other then back at Steve and said “We’re sorry Steve, most of our friends are enemies with each other so you will have to deal with preventing fighting. And if you can’t, prevent them completely stop them from getting ugly”
Steve said “But I can still eat dinner right?”
Kathy said “Let’s get out as we’re not going anywhere.”
They all got out.
Kathy said “ Steve, we should talk about this in your house.”
Kathy’s family and Steve went into Steve’s house and sat on the sofa.
Once seated Kathy said “Steve, you’ll be lucky if you can even get most of the families to sit next to each other.”
Steve asked “Will I still be able to eat?” beginning to grow impatient.
Bob said “Well…we’ll try and control the fights between families while you eat your-”
Tristan then had the idea of making a joke. So, he said “Villager”
Kathy and Bob both looked at Steve and yelled “You EAT villager!? I knew you probably had some secrets but this. We can't believe you! We’ll sacrifice ourselves but you can’t come to say goodbye. We’ll tell all your villager friends that you eat villagers! Geez we’re still disgusted by this. You have to stay in your house while we have the multi-village dinner.”
Steve said “I have never actually eaten villager. That was just a lie Tristan told.”
Kathy and Bob said “We’d love to believe you Steve. But, you eat villager according to Tristan”
Steve yelled “I have never eaten villager!”
Steve looked at Tristan in hopes of backup. But, he didn’t respond.
Steve said “Fine, leave me out of the last meal I can ever have with you.” and started to cry
Tristan said “Steve! It’s your village! You can go if you want.”
Steve said “I'd love to do that. But, I don’t want anyone to hate me.”
Tristan whispered “Steve, I’ll tell them after everyone leaves.”
Steve said “Please trust me guys! I promise I’ve never eaten villager and never will” He accidentally said “Again”
Tristan said “So you really have?!”
Steve whispered “Oh dear dear dear dear. Did I really say one of my deepest darkest secrets?!”
Tristan said “Steve. I’m so sorry. Now my parents will not sacrifice themselves in order to save Alex. You should get ready to move away soon away from all villages. Because pretty soon the whole world will know.”
Bob said “Come on! We don’t want to be eaten by him! He confessed he has eaten villagers in the past.”
Steve said “No! You don’t understand! I only did that in my days as Tristan the infamous greifer.”
Bob said “Geez! You just keep getting worse! Any other deep dark secrets?!”
Steve gulped and said “I do have some”
Kathy said “I’m sorry Steve. You have to abandon this village within a month. We’ll care for Tristan. Can each family that wants to keep a memory of you have one of your hairs?”
Steve said “No! I will NEVER abandon this village. It’s my village!”
Tristan said “Steve, I can be the protector of the village if that’s what you’re worried about.”
Kathy said “Fine, you can attend the special dinner.”
Bob said “What?!”
Kathy said “He hasn’t done it in ages if he has done it.”
Bob said “So what?! He has still done it!” and stormed out.
Steve realized this was his opportunity to lie about his dark past. So, he said “I have never actually eaten villager. Was just kidding.” and chuckled nervously.
Kathy said “I’m sorry about this Steve. The most I can do is keep it secret from the rest of the village. I will see if I can convince Bob to let you attend the dinner in a few weeks. “
Steve said “Thank you so much Kathy. If you guys have to move…I’ll call you every night.”
Kathy said “Even if Bob leaves I’m staying here. I don’t care about your past. Now you are a kind and protective village guardian.”
“But I thought you and Bob loved each other. Why are you staying here instead of moving like him?”
“I just want you to be happy as long as possible. Also Bob really has nothing in common with me”
Then there was a knock at the door. Steve got up and answered it. It was all the villagers.
Steve burrowed his face in his hands and said “I give you all approval to leave this village and never return. I know it will be abandoned. Which as you know is one of my worst fears. Just give me at least one more week with all of you.”
All the villagers nodded and said “You have a week and a half if you manage to not leave your house or open the door for any of us… we’ll stay.”
Steve nodded and said “I think I can do that.”
“We’ll come by every hour…except for at night. It will start in two days”
Steve nodded and said “I understand.”
The villagers then left and Steve shut the door.
Steve fell to his knees and said “There is no way I can do that”
Kathy and Tristan said “Sorry in advance Steve. Bob told everyone.”
Steve said “At least they’re giving me a chance”
Kathy and Tristan said “Oh Steve, we’ll miss you. Your voice could really light up a room.”
“Thank you so much”
“No big deal. Also when it’s our turn we won't do it. We may be shunned but, we want everyone to stay here” and left.
Steve then peered out the window to see all the villagers celebrating. Steve felt left out so he stepped outside.
All the villagers looked over at Steve and said “We’re sorry. We have to move.”
Steve yelled “You said I had two days not two minutes!”
“Oh we meant two minutes. Sorry.”
Steve ran up to Bob and yelled “Bob! I should have done this a long time ago! You are banned from my village! Just get out!”
Bob left the village in his minecart and yelled “I’ll visit weekly”
Steve yelled “No! You will not! And to make sure you don’t, I will build a wall around the village and guard it all the time!”
All the villagers said “It finally happened. You’ve gone mad with power. Frankly we thought it would have been way sooner.”
Steve said “I’m standing right here!”
All the villagers said “Fine! We’ll stay here if you let Bob back in.”
Steve nodded and said “Fine.” and rolled his eyes.
The villagers said “Don't give us that”
Steve ran back inside and called Bob and said “Hi, you’re allowed back in my village.”
Bob said “Let me think about it. No! I can’t trust you anymore! By the way i’m sacrificing myself so you will become Tristan again”
Steve gulped and said “Really?”
“Yes. Enjoy nice you while you still can”
Steve said “Is there any way I can talk you out of it?”
“There is one way!”
“Well?”
“You have to prove to me you have changed. I’ll come home but with villager meat. I’ll give you a week. If you manage to not use any of it…I’ll stay.”
Steve said “But if any of my friends from any village come YOU will have to explain to them why I have villager meat. Deal?”
“Nope! YOU will have to explain it to them.”
Steve said “Fine. But if I lose any of my friends because of it YOU have to comfort me.”
Tristan said “Steve? What’s taking so long?”
“Not now Tristan. Some adults are trying to make a deal.”
Bob said “Nope. You are old enough to comfort yourself”
Steve said “Fine. Just get home. I miss you.”
“I have to get the villager meat. Remember?”
Steve sighed heavily and said “Yes. Just be home before night. I don’t want to have to cure any more zombie villagers”
Bob said “You’ve never cured any zombie villager in our village!”
“Yeah about that. I have tried to but before I finish building the villager burnt to death. And after I built that zombie villager curing facility, I could never get the villager to go down there.”
“Down there?”
“Yeah. You know that underground tunnel system you hid in during the prophecy?”
“Yeah:
“The village room?”
“Yes”
“Well it’s in the pink hallway”
“Ohh. I’m on my way now.. If I'm not home by sundown, would you like me to stay in an abandoned village for the night?”
Steve said “Well…umm let me see.. I guess you could. If you promise to be extremely cautious and if any hostile mob is within 15 blocks of you get away as fast as possible.”
“Deal. Do you know where you could find villager meat?”
“Umm no.”
Then suddenly it became nighttime.
Steve gulped nervously and said “Okay just go to the nearest village. I don’t care if it has a protector or not. Just get there safely.”
Bob said “Here’s the thing, A baby zombie is in front of me and behind me and a ravager is on either side of me. Any advice?”
Steve hung his head and shook it no.
He said “Well… how close are they?”
“The ravagers are heading inside the village I’m right in front of and the zombies are attacking me.”
