Brittany beats the daylights out of a blue lobster jumpscare

Chapter 12
The Koppaites had followed the signal to a sinister stump. A wall of thick bark guarded the exterior, and the entrance, with the dark space behind it and the spikes of wood, looked like a gaping maw, ready to swallow the trespassers whole.
Alph swallowed nervously. He really wanted to get Charlie back, but this was a bit much, even for him. He had a bad feeling about this place.
Brittany trotted ahead with a few Red Pikmin in tow. She looked back at him. "Alph? You good?"
"Yeah," he said, tapping the ground with his foot. "Just kind of nervous, I guess."
"C'mon, Alphie, you'll be fiiiiiine," she replied. "We've got a bunch of Pikmin, and there's NO WAY anything here is going to kill us. We have the emergency teleporter, remember? Now, let's get the captain and get out. We'll never have to come back to this place again."
A bright flash of yellow caught Alph's eye. He turned and saw another data file. Curious as to what it could say, he picked it up and began reading.
Journal Entry #3
My search for treasure continues with no luck. But I can't fly back to Hocotate without procuring a few priceless artifacts! I'm sensing something valuable up ahead. But I'm also sensing danger. So if someone finds this data file, please send word to my son... that I didn't make it.
This did nothing to alleviate Alph's nerves.
Brittany stepped into the stump, seemingly unfazed by what lay ahead, while Alph scurried close behind her nervously. Suddenly, she stopped, and he crashed right into her.
"Watch it!" she hissed, looking up. "You'll alarm that-"
A deafening roar echoed in the den. Alph covered his ears and looked up, eyes widening with horror.
A huge creature was clinging to the wooden ceiling. Its body shone like crystal, save for a flash of dark blue. Two large mandibles stuck out of its enormous face, both with a tiny yellow eye behind it. It glared at them before suddenly climbing down the wall.
Alph froze.
It was heading right for him.
