The next morning at 7:00, Zuri woke Alex up.
Alex took her sleep mask off and said “What?”
“Well… at the PvP festival, I got an all day pass plus another one for you.”
“Why not just ask Steve if he wants to go?”
Zuri then woke up Steve and said “Steve, would you like to come with me to the festival?”
Steve quickly got out of bed and got dressed.
When they arrived, Steve saw there was VIP parking.
Steve said “Are we going to be parking there?”
Zuri said “Sure”
They then went to the Vip parking.
The one at the gate pulled down his shades and said “Zuri Stonecutter. With Steven Stonecutter? You Are allowed here… in fact, you get to park here for free.”
“Why?” asked “Zuri
“Both of you are legends.”
Steve then slumped down and saw everyone was looking at him.
Zuri parked and Steve slowly got out.
The moment he got out, everyone rushed over to him.
Zuri grabbed his hand and said “Let’s get moving!”
When they got to the gates, the one there said “Everyone it’s Steven Stonecutter! They’re expecting you at the signing booth.”
Zuri said “Are they expecting me anywhere?”
“No. You may just have some fun here.”
Zuri said “So, I wasted my money on the most exclusive tickets for nothing?!”
The one at the gate said “Yeah”
Zuri said “I demand a refund for one of them!” and pushed the person into the dirt
Steve said “I’m sorry about that sir” and helped the person up.
The person at the gate said “Come in.”
Steve and Zuri came in and Steve instantly got shown to his signing area.
Zuri followed.
The guys that showed Steve his sign in the booth said “Alright, we’re your guards for while you’re here.”
Steve said “Why do I need guards?”
The yards said “When it happens, you’ll know”
“Do I get a lunch break?”
“Yeah”
“Good”
Three minutes later a giant crowd started to form around Steve’s booth.
The people were all yelling at each other to decide which of them gets to talk to him first.
The guards organized everyone into lines.
When a family that had 12 kids was up, the oldest kid said “Mom! Look over there! There’s a beginners PvP game over there!”
The youngest said “I want to go home!”
The two middle children said “Do any of you know who this is?!”
Steve said “What do all of you want? A photo with me? A signed photo of me?”
The oldest groaned and said “Mom, why are you making us stay here with this loser?”
The mother said “Can you get a photo with all of us and sign it?”
The photographer said “How many copies of the photo would you like?”
The mother said “13.”
The photographer said “That will be 12,000 diamonds.”
Steve then went over to the backdrop with everyone and got a photo.
Steve then said “May I attend the beginners PvP game?”
The guards said “Well… you do get three breaks.”
Steve then headed over to the beginners PvP game.
When he got there, someone said “Hey everyone! Look! It’s Steven Stonecutter!”
The announcer said “Would you all keep it down!?”
The battle then started.
Steve was hoping the younger kid would win. But, the older kid won.
The announcer sai “And with that Cassidy Rockchopper wins lunch with Steve for free.”
Steve then ran out and back to his booth.
When he got back, there was Zuri waiting there.
Zuri said “Steve. You weren’t supposed to leave your post for a PvP game!”
The guards said “We know the rules better than you… random kid!”
Steve rolled up his sleeves and yelled “She’s not a random kid! She’s a legend… like me! Also, she’s not a kid anymore”
Zuri said “Steve, I’ve got to learn how to stand up for myself”
Steve ruffled Zuri’s hair ad said “I know sweetie”
Then a huge group came up to Stve’s booth and said “Hello great sir,we’re from the professional PvP college nearby. Would you mind signing some papers for us?”
Steve said “Yeah sure”
Zuri said “Oh and there’s a special meet the creator of PvP: an event halfway across the festival closing in 30 minutes. I assume you don’t want to leave your post seeing you’d only have two breaks left”
Steve yelled “I have to go there!”
He ran as fast as he could to the event and when Steve got there, he yelled “Hey! Pearl von Preston! Over here!” and flailed his arms wildly and jumped.
Pearl said “Guards, remove that person from my sight! I’m trying to do custom autographs here!”
28 minutes later, Steve was up.
Pearl said “Sorry kid, I've got to close up for the day. I have a meeting with this delightful sounding legend that goes by the name of Steven Stonechopper… not whoever you’re supposed to be.”
Steve’s mouth fell open with shock and he nearly passed out.
Zuri said “You listen here! This man is Steven Stonecutter! You better sign a photo of yourself with him! Got it?!”
Pearl said “I’m sorry; do I hear something. Probably just a fly!”
Zuri said “Pearl! You listen here! THe man you were so mean to is Steven Stonecutter not Steven Stonechopper! He really wants that picture with you and you to sign it!”
By then Steve had regained consciousness.
Pearl said “I like your attitude missy! You Can get a signed photo with me. As for you” and pointed at Steve “There’s no such thing as a legend!”
Steve’s jaw dropped and he slinked away.
Zuri yelled “Wait! Steve! Maybe I can convince her to get a signed photo with you!”
Steve headed back slowly.
Zuri had almost convinced her.
A few minutes later, Steve had a signed photo with her.
Steve took it and stuck the photo in his pocket and headed back to his stand
When he got back, he said “Welp…I met my hero but he turned out to be pure mean!”
Pearl then came over and said “I’m so sorry about the little incident we had earlier today. Right after you left, I noticed you really were Steven Stonecutter. Hey, how about I visit you at your house sometime?”
Steve said “It would be an honor maam.”
Then Pearl walked away.
Steve continued signing and at noon, Zuri came and said “Lunch?”
Steve went inside the building with Zuri. Ten minutes later 25 people showed up at the door.
The guards said “They’re all here for lunch with you”
Steve sat down with Zuri and sat at the big table.
All the people said “Steve, what got you started on your current path?”
Steve said “Oh, I just followed my legacy”
About a half hour later, Steve was done with his lunch and he went back outside.
Three hours later, everyone was called to the stage.
Steve slowly went to the stage and met up with Zuri.
Zuri said “Hello Steve. Did you get a booklet of awards?”
“No”
Then someone handed him a booklet.
Steve looked through it and said “Oh my gosh! I may get the most exclusive award of all time!”
Zuri started to cry.
Steve said “What is it?”
“I’m not nominated for anything.”
Steve sat down with the older legends and said “Zuri, go find the younger legends. They may be able to help you.”
Zuri whined “”But Steve!- I need some help finding them”
The one who was dressed most formally said “Steven Stonecutter?! We haven’t seen each other in forever!”
Steve said “Amanda Reed?! Is that really you?”
Amanda said “Yeah. I missed you honey”
Zuri said “Umm Steve, what’s going on?”
Steve said “Zuri. We usd to love each other until that one day when she won the school PvP battle against me… after that, she was never quite the same.”
Amanda laughed and said “This must be little Zuri.”
Zuri said “Steve! Help me find the legends in my age category!”
Steve got up and walked with Zuri until he found her area.
Steve then went back to his age group area and started to talk with all the other older legends.
One of them said “Remember how hard it used to be to become a legend?” and everyone laughed.
Steve said “Yeah. There used to be a test to become a legend”
Then the ceremony started.
The announcer said "we are all very pleased to present the PvP awards of the year.”
Everyone cheered.
An hour later, the award ceremony was over.
Steve had only won a single award.
Steve headed back to the car with Zuri.
Just before they left, a kid who looked to be about ten said “My mother abandoned me here!”
Steve said “Come with me.” and helped the kid to the nearest adult.
Steve stayed with the kid for three hours and then realized that their parents weren’t coming back.”
The kid said “Actually… they abandoned me here last year.”
Steve said “Zuri, would you mind calling Alex to tell her this?”
Zuri called Alex and said “Hi, yes we’re alright. We found a kid who was abandoned here last year.”
“Take them home. They’ll appreciate it.” and hung up.
Zuri said “She wants us to take her home”
“Okay”
The kid got in the car and Steve went home with Zuri as well.
