That night when Steve went to bed, he said “Alex! Come to bed my little sweet”
He then remembered Alex left him.
Steve said “Oh yeah right, you aren’t with me anymore.”
Alex then called Steve and said “Extremely sorry I’m calling so late. I just totally forgot I was-”
“Don’t say another word” through his tears
“Alex said “No Steve, it’s not like that at all! I just forgot the time I was supposed to call.”
Steve said “I mean that little to you?”
Alex said “No, I just forgot with all that’s going on right now, I just forgot what time. Also, I was busy unpacking at that time”
Steve said “Oh. So sorry I jumped to conclusions about you forgetting about me” and chuckled nervously.
‘They talked for a few hours. Steve then fell asleep.
The next morning, when he woke up, he yelled “Alex! What’s for breakfast?”
When she didn’t respond, he cried. (Alex was doing even worse than Steve but she was being helped by the rest of the family)
Steve said “Oh my little sweetie? Why have you run away?!”
He then got a call from Alex.
Alex was crying and when Steve heard that, he said “Sweetie, you don’t have to go through with this.”
Alex said “If I don’t you’ll be done for sooner”
Steve sighed “Yeah, you’re right. Please just come home”
Alex said “I’ll see you again in about a year. Trust me.”
Then Rana started to yell. Steve said “Please Alex, just come home to me!”
“I can't, I'm at Null’s place. Trust me. If he mistreats me even once, I’m coming home… to you. Now he’s coming out to greet me. Goodbye. I don’t want this to be my talk with you today. And don’t worry, every morning, I’ll text you good morning” and hung up.
Null then took Alex out of the car and the kids followed.
Steve then started to cry and said “How I miss her. And Kathy’s family moved away so I have no close friends here. Let’s see;Alex isn’t living here anymore, Kathy's family moved to village 4,000, Xander got lost in the nether and Oliver and Carol are moving away now I guess I’m for once alone in this world. No friends or anybody.”
Then a little voice came back to him. It was his imaginary friends from when he was younger.
Steve said “Times aren’t that bad yet.”
A few months later, Steve had pretty much ripped out all his hair from loneliness.
He gulped and said “Why did I do this? Alex said if anything major happened to me tell her.”
That night when he called Alex he said “Umm Alex, I have kind of started pulling off my hair to cope with my loneliness”
Alex said “Send me a picture”
Steve sent her a picture he took of himself earlier that day.
Alex said “Steve, why didn’t you tell me you were this lonely? He said if you ever got too lonely to be able to handle it, I could go home.”
Steve said “I’m good. I’m fine now”
“Really? You still sound very upset”
Steve said “I’m fine!” very harshly
Alex said “I’ll be right home”
Steve, beginning to get annoyed, said “I’m fine!”
Alex said “Steve, I know you. Whenever you don’t sneak a PvP reference after saying everything’s fine, You’re in need of comfort. Quite frankly, I’ve been expecting him to find me for a very long time now. In a way I’m very relieved”
Steve said “If you want the truth, I have needed your help ever since all my friends left my village for various reasons”
Alex said “Okay, I’ll first check to see if I can live with you forever.”
Null then laughed evilly and said “You really think I’m going to let you go!? I know where you live! I will find you and bring you back!” and laughed more.
Alex said “Listen to me Steve, I want you to move away from your current house. I know you’ve spent most of your life in that village. I just want to be free from Null. He has a pretty good idea of where I’ll be so, we need to constantly be moving until you’re too old to.”
Steve sighed “I think I’m at my last stage in life. This means I just don’t have the energy to constantly move”
“Oh. Then we have to stay in this arrangement forever. I’m so sorry Steve. I promise I’ll be there for you when you die.”
Steve said “I’m not going to die!”
“Oh how I admire your optimism, But, you will. I’m sorry. He said if I leave for more than a week, he’d hunt both of us down and destroy us both.”
Steve then had an idea.
He said “Hey, you could come and pick me up and I could live with you.”
Alex said “Are you sure? I mean you’ve lived in that village for over three quarters of your life!”
Steve said “Alex, trust me, I just can’t handle moving every month. I’ll just need help.”
Alex said “I’ll be right there. By the way, you will have to umm sleep in the guest room.”
The following night, Alex and Steve started to pack everything up..
Alex said “Steve, if you don’t want to do this, I can stay here with you”
Steve said “Alex, I really don’t think I’ll be able to handle living alone for long times”
Alex said “You sure you want to do this?”
“Yes”
A few weeks later, they had finished packing.
When they were done with everything but Seve’s awards, Alex said “How do you want this organized?”
Steve said “Just put 'em in there randomly.”
Alex threw the awards into the travel chest with no regard of how hard she was throwing them in.
An hour later, they were done.
Rana ran into Steve’s room and said “Steve, someone’s at your door. Probably to say goodbye to you”
Steve went to the door to see Null.
Steve said “Rana! That’s Null! The one who said would end me! Quickly hide me!”
Alex said “Steve, I’ll help you face him!”
Alex then came downstairs and opened the door and said “Hello Null, Steve can’t come right now?”
“Why exactly?”
“He’s sleeping”
“Good, that means he won’t feel it when I end it for him… in hardcore!”
Steve then poked is head out and said “Wait what?”
Null said “Great! He’s awake now! I’ll just send you to hardcore and then let you die in any way you would like.”
Alex said “No! I challenge you to a PvP battle first one to die " and winked at Steve.
Steve said “Alex, are you mad?! Null is more than four times my level at PvP! Please don’t go through with this!”
Alex said “Steve, trust me. I’ll be careful”
Steve said “Alex, trust me, I’ve battled him. I was at peak ability and he completely destroyed me within ten minutes!”
“Still worth it. If I win, I’ll be even more well respected in PvP than yu” and laughed “Also, I know you’ll be extremely proud of me when I win”
Steve sighed and said “Guess I’d better show you the tape of my battle against him!”
Null said “Alex, the battle will be in Steve’s old arena tomorrow at noon! Will that work for you?”
Steve said “No it won’t.” and laughed nervously
“Then when would you like it?”
“In a week”
“So the 30th at noon?”
Alex said “Umm I’m actually totally busy that week. Maybe the following week?”
“So the fourth?”
“Rana has something. And the fifth Steve has something.So maybe the sixth?”
“Deal! Be there at noon! Or be prepared to see Steve die in lava!” and laughed evilly and ran off.
Steve then closed the door and burrowed his face in his hands and shook his head and said “I can’t believe it. I can’t believe I loved you! I’m going to die and it’s all thanks to you!”
Rana then went over to Steve with Alex and Alex said “I’ve studied his battles and trust me, I got this”
Steve said “You realize he has done over ten times the number of battles I have done and only lost once in his fifth battle with me. I know his one weakness. Okay we better get training seeing you’re busy all next week.”
Null then came back and said “Oh and Steve, no telling her my weak points”
Steve then said “Alright”
“If she loses, I will PvP battle you in hardcore.“
Steve said “Alright, but if she wins you have to… jump into lava in hardcore and admit you’re a griefer to the PvP council.”
“They know. My entire family does both griefing and PvP.”
Alex said “Why can’t he help me?”
Steve said “Let’s not get into the details” and laughed nervously
Null said “Well… a very long time ago, me and Steve were the best of friends until the new kid came to our school and that drove us apart. We both had a crush on them and they chose Steve instad of me, I started greifing him.”
Steve said “Yeah. but when she broke up with me, we had grown so distant, there was no repairing the friendship”
Alex said “When was this?”
“Oh a few years before we met”
“Oh.”
Null said “Steve, you will have to live apart from her to make sure you don’t train her”
Steve said “No! I must train her!”
Null said “Let’s see, you can either train her and die even if she wins or not train her and stay around if she wins”
Alex said “Steve, this is up to you. Either way, I’ll be very sad”
Steve said “I choose to help her”
Null said “Then there's no point in the battle so, we’re canceling it.”
Alex said “Steve, I wanted you to pick the other choice. I think I got it without help.”
Steve said “No Alex, I want one of my last memories to be training you.”
Null said “Fine! You can train her and if she wins you stay alive.”
Alex said “Boys, I’m honored you’re fighting over me. But,b I think I can make you guys friends again”
Steve said “Are you sure? We’re really different now”
“Yes! And I’ll do it in time for the battle too.”
Steve sighed and said “There’s another reason we drifted apart”
Steve sighed heavier and said “It’s a very long story. Why don’t you come in Null. You can help me in case there are gaps in the story”
Null came in and sat on the couch and stretched out.
Alex said “Hey Null, would you mind sitting up? Steve has a bad back and well has to do a special back care routine this time every day”
Alex then grabbed the heating pad and put it under Steve’s back.Steve layed on the heating pad and got it on.
Alex said “Okay, any refreshments?”
Null said “Yeah. Chips please”
Alex said “Anything for you Steve?”
Steve said “You don’t remember this but, I’m not supposed to eat while I do this”
“Oh. Right”
Alex brought out some chips and handed them to Null.
