Steve then went back to his village with Alex.
He said “Alex are you sure you want to end it all?”
Alex said “No. I just want to be the same weight I was before the starvation pit.”
“So do I”
Xaner then ran out of his house and hugged Steve.
Steve said “Aww thanks.”
“Want to reminisce?”
“Nah”
“Okay”
Then Carol came out and said “Steve, Oliver got your arena! And he’s now officially a legend.”
“Wasn’t he before I left?”
“Yes. But, he was just a beginner legend then. Now he’s a full legend”
“What?!”
“You heard me right!”
“Yeah, I just don’t want to believe it”
Oliver then ran out of Carol’s house and said “I believed you when you became a legend!”
Carol said “Oliver! Get back to bed! You’re sick and you know it!”
Oliver said “I just wanted to say hi to Steve!”
“You could just video call him and say hi to him that way!”
Steve said “It’s fine Carol. I’ve contracted pretty much every disease you can get at one point or another.”
Carol said “Really? You’ve never told me you got PvP illness”
Steve said “Yeah… I’ve never had that! And from what I’ve read it’s extremely contagious to former PvP legends. Keep him AWAY from me!”
Oliver then walked slowly closer to Steve.
Carol said “Oliver Xavier Olivander! Keep away from Steve!”
Oliver then walked away from Steve and said “Oh Carol, I don’t know what I’d do without you!”
Steve said “Are you just dating or is it all the way?”
“All the way”
“How come I wasn’t invited?!”
“We wanted to send you an invite! But, we didn’t know your address.”
Steve said “I understand”
Oliver then headed back into his house. But, just befre he got in, Steve said “Oliver! How did you get PvP illness?”
“I don’t know! All I know is the day after my most recent battle in your arena, I got it.”
Steve said “Not that it matters but, when did you get it?”
“Exactly a week ago”
Steve said “Oh no!” and burrowed his face in his hands.
Carol saw this and said “Steve? Is there something you didn’t tell the PvP council?”
Steve quickly got his head out of his hands and put his hands at his sides.
He then said “Well…I may have programmed it to give anyone who steps into my arena without me PvP illness on the 300th day of me not entering. Sorry.”
“What?! You purposely did this just so Oliver would be harmed”
“What?! I would never purposefully harm my best friend since I was EIGHT! I just totally forgot about that protection feature.”
“How come you know everything about it now?”
“I just totally forgot about it never having to use it. I promise to pay for Oliver’s treatment.”
“I’m afraid the severity he has can’t be cured with how much you have!”
Steve nodded and said “I understand. I’ll take full responsibility”
Alex then said “Steve! Why did you include that feature in your arena?!”
“I thought I would never need it!”
Carol said “Okay Steve, you can try.”
Oliver said “I’m going back to bed”
“No! Steve will care for you!”
Steve said “Wait what?!”
“You will care for him! He’ll be living in your house until he recovers!”
“What?! Do you WANT me to get sick from him?!”
“Yes! You got him sick; so, it’s only fair if he gets you sick!”
“My ARENA made him sick, NOT me!”
“Yeah, yeah yeah. Just show him to his room in your house!”
“Okay. But, if I get sick, I’m blaming YOU!”
“Okay.”
Steve then went to Kathy and said “Hi Kath, any books on PvP illness? I have to care for Oliver who has it!”
“Umm yes. I just got it!” and handed Steve a book.
Steve grabbed the book and led Oliver to the room he would be staying in.
Oliver said “This room is a mess!”
“Yeah… I know. I’ve kind of let this room fall into disrepair. Sorry.”
“It’s fine. I can make it less of a mess.”
“Please don’t. I don’t want anything in here to have the germs on it!”
“Okay, when’s dinner?”
“Oh… tonight me and Alex were planning on going out. I guess that won’t happen.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to ruin your plans” and started to sob.
Steve sighed and said “I’m going to risk it” under his breath. He then crouched down right next to Oliver and put his hand on his shoulder and said “It’s fine.” and backed away.
Oliver said “Steve! You risked getting it for me!”
“Yeah. And now I will most definitely get it!”
“Sorry”
“It’s fine!”
Alex then came in and said “Steve! I have something I want to tell you!”
“One minute Alex! I’m talking with Oliver.”
Oliver said “Again, when’s dinner?”
“Around 6:30”
“Okay”
At around 6:30, Steve brought dinner up to Oliver and said “Oliver, please don’t leave this room.”
“Why not?”
“You really want your best friends since you were EIGHT to drop you as a friend?!”
“I’ve told you a hundred times! I’m two years older than you!”
“Oh… Sorry.”
The next day when Steve woke up, he felt very ill. He grabbed the book Kathy had given him the previous day and looked up how to tell if someone has it. He found he had it.
Steve gently woke Alex up and said “Alex, I have PvP illness… No doubt from Oliver.”
“Now Steve” said Alex “There’s no way to prove Oliver gave it to you.”
“I’d better just lay in bed until I recover. You think you can handle caring for both me and Oliver?”
“Not really”
“Well… you have to.”
“Okay”
Steve then said “I’m hungry. I want cookies.”
“Okay Steve, I’ll check in on Oliver to see what he wants”
“Okay.”
Alex then left to ask Oliver what he wanted.
About thirty minutes later, Alex came back up with the breakfasts
About a month later, Steve had recovered. Steve had forgotten almost everything. Sadly Oliver had not recovered yet.
A week after recovering, Steve went into the room Oliver was staying in only to find Oliver laying there, dead.
Steve said “Alex, I have some news to deliver to Carol.”
Alex said “Umm you aren’t supposed to leave your house for another day.”
“Please Alex? It’s kinda urgent.”
“What is it?”
“Oliver is…” he began to sob.
Alex said “I understand. ‘I’m here for you if you need me. Cry on me as much as you want. I know he was your best friend since you were eight”
Steve sniffled and said “Aww thanks. I think I got it though. Please let me tell Carol.”
Alex said “Steve, I’m sorry, I think it would be best if I told her”
“Okay. But, may I please come too?”
“Sure.”
Steve and Alex headed over to Carol’s house and when Carol answered the door, Carol said “Oh Steve, I haven’t seen Oliver in over a month. Would you mind if I came over and talked to him?”
Steve looked at Alex who said “I’m sorry, I’m afraid he’s shooting creepers from the clouds now.”
“He’s DEAD?!”
“I’m sorry.”
Carol said “Both of you are in BIG trouble! He was on his last respawn!”
Alex said “I’ll pay you 10,000 diamonds and emeralds to help.”
Steve said “Woah there Alex!”
“Steve! Please?”
“Fine!”
Carol said “I don’t want emeralds or diamonds! I want Oliver! I don’t care if he’s a zombie! I just want him back!”
Steve said “I’m sorry, there is no way to respawn him if he was on his last respawn!”
Carol said “Your respawner in the desert biome by your arena!”
“I’m afraid that was part of the arena.”
“You listen here and you listen well! I want my sweet little Oliver back! You will do whatever it takes to respawn him!”
Steve said “Well… I do have one more respawn after this. I guess I could transfer it over.”
Alex said “No Steve! Then you won’t be able to respawn! I have three more after this! I’ll use two of mine!”
Carol said “Well… hurry up!”
Steve called Minecraftnerd and said “Hi, is your trained respawner still alive? We need to do a respawn transfer”
“Yes. We’ll be right over!”
And the trained respawner showed up holding a strange machine.
She said “Who do you want to respawn?”
“Oliver”
“The PvP legend?!”
“Yeah”
“Who’s respawns are we taking?”
Alex said “Mine”
The respawner said “Okay. This is just experimental so, it may not work or it may kill both of you”
Alex said “Okay”
The respawner went with Steve and Alex to Oliver. She activated the respawn transferer and Oliver sat up and Alex fell to the floor.
Oliver said “Steve, I know this must be extremely hard for you losing your wife. But your best friend is still here. You can always cry on me”
“I’d rather not! You caused my wife to DIE! If it weren’t for you becoming a stupid PvP legend, she would still be alive!”
“It has to do with me getting your arena not with becoming a legend”
“Still mister! It’s your fault she’s gone!”
The respawner said “Chill Steve! It was supposed to make her fall over! But, she isn’t dead!”
“Oh, sorry ‘bout that Oliver.”
“I never want to hear your gritty voice again! Our friendship is hereby cut PERMANENTLY!! And by the way I’ll talk to Alex every night YOU’RE OUT having dinner with all the people you greifed! That’s right you’ll have to do that until you die!”
Steve said “Please no! And my voice isn’t gritty is it?”
The respawner said “It’s pretty gritty”
Alex then sat up and said “Huh? Where am I? What happened?”
Steve hugged Alex and started to cry on her shoulder and wailed “Oliver cut our friendship and he said he would call you whenever I’m out for dinner with the people I greifed!”’
Alex patted Steve’s back and said “At least he still wants to see you.”
Oliver said “Oh yeah Steve” Steve looked up at Oliver “I forgot to tell you, I never want to see you AGAIN!”
Steve collapsed onto Alex and started to cry harder than he ever had before.
Alex said “At least they aren’t moving. Right?”
Steve got up and nodded slowly.
Oliver said “Oh yeah Steve, in a week, We’ll be moving away from this crummy village! And yes, I’ve always thought that about this village!”
Alex said “It could be worse.”
Steve stopped crying and sat up and yelled “How?! How could it possibly be worse?!”
“He didn’t say you had to go in the starvation pit again”
Oliver said “Steve, you’re sentenced to LIFE in the starvation pit”
Alex said “LIFE?! My little Stevie munchkin would much rather die in the VOID than that!”
