So, one time I read a book where there were LGBTQ+ characters written by a cis, straight author. They went off of stereotypes and lies from cis, straight people. The descriptions were awful and everything was great. It didn't match the LGBTQ+ experience. Everyone was accepting (lie) there were stereotypes.

It was bad.

Idk, I just needed to talk about this. I've read a lot of stories like this, but this was, like, someone had a crush, and it was kinda annoying that it was really not written well.

Thats annoying. Authors should know what they are writing about, not base it off of societies opinions and such.

I’ve never experienced anything like that cause if I pick up a LGBTQ-related book I will probably be judged by my parents (who know nothing). Also I’m terrified other kids’ll judge me. MY MOM DID RECENTLY BUY ME ONE OF THOSE BOOKS WITH NO IDEA IT WAS THAT AND I READ THE WHOLE BOOK. Highly recommend the book “The Insiders” by Mark something. I think the author is nonbinary. I told my mom it was LGBTQ to see her reaction after I read it and she was like “Oh that’s okay I had no idea I’m sorry it’s like that.” I was like… “Uhuh.. yeah it’s all fine I guess.”

THANK GOODNESS I GOT KIDZTALK

Yup.

I'll read it!

That's both awkward and not fun.

I agree with you. I hate when authors do that.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I think I speak for the whole community when I say we love and care about our allies (that's no exaggeration, we really do), but If you are going to write a book about LGBTQ+ then at least make it realistic.

I hate the stereotypes, and these authors just spread them around even more. Fortunately, there are a lot of good LGBTQ+ stories, that DONT have stereotypes and misinformation.

Same. I hate it.

Yeah, we love allies!

Yeah! I have plenty of recommendations, and I bet you probably do, too.

Allies, please make it realistic. And if it is, thank you.

Yeah, Nobi. True.

Also, I oppose the waterjuice movement! We should have dry juicy curry instead!

Yes, Nobi, you are the most important and sweetest little schnoodle on here.
:D
(To the mod seeing this, you are just as much of an important little fella as anyone. Luv ya)

I love being a schnoodle meowla

And thanks, guys. Now I don't feel so bland being an ally, now knowing that I can be just as prideful, even as a cis straight person!

AND ALSO, WATERJUICE IS ARGUABLY EQUAL If not better THAN DRY JUICY CURRY
