Ari took all the snacks out of Steve’s hands and “You’re eating too much! I’m worried about your health!”
Steve said “Alex always lets me eat unhealthy snacks while watching my battles.”
“Well, If you hadn’t realized I’m Ari! I’ll make you a fruit salad.”
“Fine!”
About five minutes later, Ari came out with a fruit salad. Steve reached for the bowl of chips on the coffee table but couldn’t reach.
Ari tookthe chips away and put the fruit salad in Steve’s lap.
Steve said “Don’t worry about me”
Ari said “Steve, I’m incredibly worried about your health!”
Steve said “Fine, I’ll eat your fruit salad!” quite angrily.
Ari turned on the TV and set up a tape.
Steve said “Oh my gosh! This is one of my first battles!”
Steve began to eat his salad and when he was done, the battle was over.
Ari said “Steve time to start on dinner”
Steve tried to get up but couldn’t.
Steve said “I’m afraid my getting up days are over.”
Ari said “What?! I’m extremely worried about you now. I want you to live to see me grow up. I love you too. Please just try and get up!”
Steve grabbed onto the arm of the couch and slowly got up and started making dinner.
An hour later, they had eaten dinner.
Ari said “Steve, please don't eat any more unhealthy things.”
Steve said “Okay”
Steve struggles to get up.
About 29 hours later, Alex came home.
Steve was sleeping on the couch at that time
When Alex entered, she whispered “Alright kids, quietly get ready for bed. No baths tonight. It will wake up Steve.”
Zuri went up first but, about halfway up the stairs, Zuri made a floorboard creak and Steve woke up.
Alex said “Steve, what are you doing up so late? It’s nearly midnight”
Steve sighed and said “I fell asleep down here while watching TV. Ari turned it off and went to sleep.”
Alex said “We tried to get it. We failed. The council is coming tomorrow to see if you still have the sword.”
Steve began to sweat and said “Why did you not offer to trade a sword for the sword they took?”
Alex said “We could go now. After all, the kids go to sleep.”
Steve said “Really?”
“Yes”
Steve then gave all the kids sleep potion and left with Alex.
As soon as they left the house, Alex said “Steve, Ari tells me you have difficulty getting up now. We seriously need to take you to the doctor. We’ll do it tomorrow after the council leaves”
Steve said “But, there is no way we’ll make it home on time!”
Alex sighed and said “Yeah. I hate to say it Steve. I think your legacy is done.” and came back inside with Steve and went right to bed.
Steve just slept on the couch.
The next morning, the council came while Steve was sleeping.
Alex let them in and the council saw Steve sleeping on the couch and said “Tsk tsk tsk. This does not look acceptable for a PvP legend’s home!”
Alex said “What are you doing?!”
Then Steve woke up and said “Oh. Hello guys.”
The council said “Still in pajamas. That will remove points.”
Steve said “It’s the year inspection isn’t it. Can we please have Zuri’s today too?”
The council said “That’s not allowed. You realize this is going to determine if you will make it to the unremovable list. So far it’s not looking too great.”
Zuri then came down dressed and yelled “Steve! Why are you in your PJs when the council is here?! Don’t you know that’s forbidden?!”
The council said “Actually for the inspections, they don’t have to be in their daytime clothes.”
Steve said “Zuri, would you mind making me breakfast? Thanks sweetie.”
Zuri made Steve a fruit salad.
Steve slowly ate the fruit salad and the council said “Tsk tsk tsk, Steve hand over your legend paper.”
Alex said “Just because he ate a fruit salad?! That’s a little unfair.”
The council said “A legend can not eat a salad of any kind in front of their council or councils”
Steve said “Bye!”
Then Ari said “If you want to remove him, you’ll have to battle me!”
Steve burrowed his face in his hands and said “There is no way you’ll win. “
The council said “Steve,we’re afraid once a battle has been offered to the PvP council, the council must take it. Ari, you’ll have to battle the entire council.”
Steve said “No! Just one member!”
“We would use the leader of PvP, but she’s lost her title because of the loss. Now Steve is the leader.”
Steve said “So, I’m part of the council and you’re still inspecting my house?!”
The youngest council member said “Yeah. I guess we don’t need to do this again.” and left
Alex said “Steve is having difficulty getting up. Kids, I trust you alone.”
Steve said “I don't trust you. You know what? I forgot to tell all of you. Whenever me or Alex is out, one of you is secretly in charge and I told them not to give any hints about who it is. So, none of you ill ever know who it is.”
Alex then left with Steve.
When they arrived at the doctor, Steve said “Wait this isn’t my doctor!”
Alex said “You're right! It’s mine. I accidentally took you to mine! What was I thinking?!”
Alex took Steve to his doctor and they walked in.
Alex said “Umm Steven Stonecutter is here.”
The person at the desk said “Have him fill out these forms” and handed over some forms.
Alex came over to Steve and said “Fill these out please”
Steve took the papers and pen and started to fill the papers out
About three minutes later, he had finished filling out the forms.
Alex came back to the desk and handed over the papers.
The one there said “Trouble getting up in all positions?! This is extremely serious! We’ll rush you to the hospital immediately! It is probably already too severe to cure. “
Alex said “Really?”
“Yes. He was told to come back every month for treatment but he never scheduled an appointment to help him recover. If he does make it, he won’t be able to do as much as he could now”
Alex said “How long until he gets rushed there?”
“Some of our doctors are carrying him to our ambulance and he’ll be there in about an hour or less.”
Alex rushed after Steve and got in with him.
Alex was crying saying “I can’t believe this is really the last time we’re ever going to ride in a vehicle together with both of us being alive.”
Steve said “Relax Alex, I’m going to be okay”
Then about 15 minutes later they arrived.
The doctors rushed Steve in saying “Steven Stonecutter had PvP master illness. He can’t get up easily.”
Steve tried to lift his arm but couldn’t”
The hospital said “Alex, I would recommend you go home. We may not be able to heal him”
Alex said “Okay” and walked back to Steve’s doctor’s office.
When Steve got to his room, the doctors said “Steve, you won’t be able to see Alex for a while. Now lay down and then stand up as fast as you can without using any help and without getting hurt.”
Steve went over to the bed and layed down. He then slowly sat up and then stood up.
The doctors said “Steve, that took you three whole minutes! You seriously need help. You probably will never be able to live a full life again.”
“What?!”
“We’re sorry. You’ll have to stay here for a few days at least.”
“A few days?! But, Zuri has a big meeting with the council and can’t do the meetings on her own.”
“Sorry.”
Then the doctors said “You need to remove all traces of PvP from your house to heal.”
Steve said “No! I’ve spent pretty much my whole life with them.”
The doctors said “Well, if you don’t when you get back home, you’ll die within a week. In fact, we’ve never seen this condition get this severe.”
Steve said “Fine. How long until I go home?”
“At least three days” and took Steve to an overnight room.
Steve got moved to the bed and got told not to move.
Everyone else in the room looked at Steve and said “Hi Steve. Sign my book by my bed”
The medics said “Nope. He can’t”
Everyone sighed and said “Why?”
“He just can’t”
Three days later, the medics had updated Steve’s condition from unstable to stable.
They let Steve go home with Alex when Steve got put in a wheelchair.
Alex said “Steve, you think you can make it?”
Steve said “Yea, I’m better.”
The medics said “Remember Steve, visit your doctor every three months to help your condition and remove all traces of PvP from your house”
Alex said “No! He will not remove anything from his house!”
The medics said “Okay, have fun loving him when he’s dead.”
Alex said “I can respawn him.”
They said “No, he actually has the unrespawnable. If you try to respawn him, he will be deleted from all the memories of the people who he touched emotionally”
Alex said “How long do we have to remove them?”
“Forever”
Alex cried and said “Steve, I don’t like either choice because if you keep them, you’ll be dead within a…”
“Week or two”
“But if you get rid of them, you’ll be miserable”
The medics said “Wait no, he doesn’t have to get rid of all his PvP things. Sorry. He has a very good chance of death within a few months. He will be the luckiest person to ever live if he lives past a year more. He will be extremely lucky to even make it past six months! He chose the quantity of life remaining over quality.”
Alex said “Aww Steve, thanks for picking the thing that will make you live longer.”
Steve said “Okay”
Alex said “Does he have a compromised vocabulary right now?”
“Yeah. He can only say versions of yes right now and ask questions.”
Alex hugged Steve and took him home.
When Steve got home, Zuri ran up to Steve and said “Look what I won at a huge battle!”
Steve said “Fine”
Zuri said “Steve? Are you okay? I’m really worried about you”
Alex said “So, he had to pick quantity or quality for his remaining life. He picked quantity and now his vocabulary is compromised and he can only say versions of yes now”
Steve said “Yeah”
Alex said “Steve, Do you regret your choice?”
“Yeah”
Alex said “Aww Steve, for the foreseeable future, we’ll eat only the meals you want to eat.”
All the kids said “He can’t even tell you what he wants!”
Alex growled at all of them.
Steve asked “Are you growling at me?”
“No!”
Alex then said “Steve, how long do you think you have?”
“A month or two”
Alex and Steve then selected dinners
