Chapter 34
“WHAT THE HECK!?”
Alph jumped awake. *Was that Charlie? How’d we get outside when we’re in - HUH?*
They were no longer orbiting the planet, but were now on its surface. That was strange - he didn’t remember landing, especially not in the middle of the night. Captain Charlie had been fast asleep, and Brittany probably didn’t know how to operate a spaceship, which left them with…
*Olimar!*
He checked the ship. Olimar was gone - as was Charlie’s rubber duck. *We just saved his life! There’s no way he’d be THAT inconsiderate…* Shoving on his suit and helmet, he hopped outside.
Charlie was already outside. “Captain! Captain!” Alph yelped. “Olimar’s missing! And your rubber ducky’s gone, too!” He couldn’t help but feel that he was missing something, but he shook it off.
“Wait, WHAT!?” he shouted. “Urgh, can’t we go a SINGLE DAY without something going wrong?”
He opened his mouth to say something else, but an enraged shriek cut him off. Brittany emerged from the Drake, stiff from fury. *Oh no. That’s pretty angry, even for her… what could have happened?”
“That villainous PIG!” she snapped, bristling.
“Brittany?” Alph said cautiously. “W-what’s wrong?”
“I’ll tell you what’s wrong. Olimar didn’t just take that dumb rubber ducky. He took our entire juice supply!”

Brittany stormed off angrily, her grip on the other’s arms tight. Alph had to walk fast just to make sure he didn’t get dragged across the mud. She approached a large stone wall - or at least, where one was supposed to be.
What had previously been an immovable obstacle was now… gone. A piece of it lay nearby. Alph picked it up. It was sharp, and part of it was covered in burns. *Bomb rocks? But we already tried those…*
“I’m not sure how he did THAT, but I will say, it’s an impressive feat.” Charlie looked up at where the top of the wall was.
Brittany glared at him. “Captain, this is the guy who is LEAVING US TO STARVE here. Kinda not a good time to be COMPLIMENTING him!”
“... Right. Well, hey, we’ve got a whole new area to explore! Might as well start looking for fruit so we don’t, you know… die.”
Alph looked past them and spotted something in the water. “Guys! Look!”
“What is it?”
“Over there!” he said excitedly, pointing. “It’s an Onion!”
